  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I'm sure most, if not all of you are part of a cell/home group with other Christians and meet together regularly for fellowship...

I'm having a really great time with my own group and growing together with them in our walk with Christ. I have a strong calling to lead my group in a discussion with the topic of 'Living for Today' (the message has been so real to me and my experiences as of late).

In saying that, I'm really keen to hear about any of your favourite group activities, discussion topics etc you've done in your own groups. I'm trying to gather some neat ideas that I may try with my own group meetings in the future. Predominantly we are a group of singles but I don't think that matters a whole lot...

Anyway, would love to hear any ideas! :) Cheers everyone!

Man, I sat down with the Associate Pastor (Chet) because he was looking for a leader for the College and Career class. I explained that working two jobs, running two investment clubs, and a paintball ministry means (and I specifically said these words) "I cannot accept any leadership role whatsoever."

So a couple weeks later one of the guys that works with the youth group comes by and says "Hey E, Chet tells me you're interested in leading a small group..."

So I'm like "Actually, what I said was that I'm interested in NOT leading ANY group."

"Oh but all you have to do is hit play on the DVD player and that's it really."

I told him we could talk about it later, and sure enough, a few days after we never talked about it again I got a letter in the mail outlining where my small group leadership training classes will be held.

Geez. It sounds like they won't take "no" for an answer.

You're actually talking as if you've led before. Yeah, you CAN lead and have it not take much time out of your week, but the ministry will suffer.

If you don't put in 100%, then your ministry does indeed suffer a whole lot. Not just for yourself but for those around you!

That's what I told the Assoc. Pas. after I said no. That with this many things going on, it's only a matter of time before they ALL fall apart, so let's not throw another straw on this camel's back.

It is indeed a matter of time before all does fall apart!

Come on ikle, you can always cut out more sleep time. If you really loved God...

*obviously joking... as one who's demolished himself for "God's Kingdom"*

Been there, done that, got the anti-depressants, thought they were a waste of money, stopped taking them, broke up with GF, felt instantly better!!!
