I don't know if it's gas prices so much as other factors. Anyway I need to find a good online source and order in bulk.

Well everything is being affected by the price of gas...businesses have to cover costs so they raise the price of their goods. The kicker is when the price of gas goes down again, their product will more than likely stay the same high price. Economics! Never liked that class.

Doesn't the States still have the cheapest petrol in the world? I know it lept up recently, but over here we sort of gawp in wonder at the prices over there. Here we're paying roughly $2 per gallon. Grrsome.

Well, I am a Cost Accountant and in this day and age, accounting and global economics go hand in hand. In fact that is why I will be gone this week because most of our plants are now down in Mexico. When I started we had 13 US plants (Just our division), and now we are down to 2 operating plants in the US, 1 Border DC and 1 regular DC. Then, there is the joint venture with a company in China, and you kind of get why global political economics can come in so handy.

It was actually so interesting because of the Professor. He made the class very enjoyable. He e-mails me to this day because he is also a regional err something or another having to do with imported good. He actually sent me a customer from Italy which was kind of cool. I do not get in on that side of the business. I am purely operations.

My role is evolving however. I am doing very, very limited accounting now. I train alot of the analysts that come in, but now I am getting into time studies and a new system implementation. It is actually really, really interesting.

Now, how is that for being a total geek! I do love my job. I am so fortunate to actually have a job that I enjoy.
