You can change the legality of an act by changing the law. The laws of a secular state are not moral statements. They are merely rules that we all agree to follow. They reflect the moral sentiments of those who craft them, but they are not moral statements in themselves. With respect to sexual acts, you are free to regard them as immoral even if they are legal, but you are not the sole arbiter of their immorality and with respect to their legality you have one vote, the same as everybody else.

They are quite common as clubs. I belonged to the Math Club myself when I was in middle school.

Um… If the first place you go to when you hear people of the same background have assembled is specifically a male on male sex act, I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do about that.

An overwhelming majority of people think that when like minded individuals come together, they’re talking about issues of relevance to them, offering support, and just generally interacting in a space they feel is controlled. Most people don’t immediately start thinking about the type of sex they or anybody else could be having. What a weird connection to make.

Right. I belonged to the Irish club and the Italian club too, in school. I am not blessed with either of those ethnicities but I liked the kids who were in the clubs and they were fun clubs to belong to.

I wouldn't want a "straight club". Kids don't need to be discussing sex at that age and in school.

Still begging the question: Why (what principle(s)) do lawmakers employ to legislate that some sex acts are permissible and others not?

It's funny to me how people feel so superior to those who struggle. As if they sit in the judgment seat of all mankind. So often we worry about cleaning the other side of the street when our side is filthy with pride, judgment (which is reserved for God), and just a general sense of being superior. What other people go through isn't my business but I abhor those who judge others. In that regard, I am also judgemental. Instead of rejecting those who we deem to be sinners, why don't we try to understand them? I guess if we did that we might remove ourselves from the judgment seat and I guess that's a no-no.

Generally on the amount of harm done by them. Rape, of course and other non consensual sex; children being deemed unable to give consent.

I live by my morals and values. I don't concern myself with other people's sinful ways unless they infringe on other people's safety like assault, rape, murder, and theft etc. People's personal sexual or gender proclivities have no effect on my life. We are to be our brother's keeper but everyone does not share my religion. For those who don't share my religious beliefs, they are free to do what is legal. Homosexuality and transgenderism is a victimless crime. I would prefer to stop people who commit crime that has a victim.
