  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

That's because they are ring species.

But they're still caterpillars ... caterpillars with wings.

No they are they are caterpillars. As shown they don't have to evolve into butterflies. They might evolve into moths or nothing at all.

I can't believe no one has thought of this before. I hear deniers claim if evolution is true why don't we see things evolve into other things. Well caterpillars sure do. They evolve into butterflies.

Sorry, but metamorphosis=\=macroevolution. Though it would be interesting to see a decent explanation of how an insect evolved to digest itself to become something else.

Exactly caterpillars evolving into butterflies isn't macro evolution because there is no such thing as macro evolution. Macro evolution is just evolution over a very long period of time.

So caterpillars over millions of years will evolve into even more interesting things than they do now.

Evolution proven.

Sorry, but no. Caterpillars will always metamorphosize (is that a word? guess it is now! lol!) into the same butterfly. It's proof of nothing. They aren't evolving, anymore than a human is when a fertilized egg begins to develop. I'm still waiting on that good explanation of how something that digests itself evolved to do that.

No really caterpillars evolve into either butterflies or moths or nothing at all. As for how they evolved to evolve well that is a silly question. Evolution is a constant process. Who knows what caterpillars will evolve into in a million years. I bet it will be amazing.

If you want to learn more about evolution and biology there are free online college classes you can take from really top notch universities. They can help you understand how evolution works.

So?

What alleles changed frequency when cosmic evolution was configuring this solar system?
I'm sorry but that doesn't even make nonsense

.And for the record, which came first? alleles or life?
I would say that life came first in the form of a self replicating molecule and the rest later but that would be just my thoughts though.

The chicken and the egg I can answer but for your question, as best I can tell no one knows yet. Working on this area probably keeps more than a few scientists busy.

I can tell, by this statement alone, you haven't a clue what evolution is.

We do know which came first the egg did. Each generation of unique mutated DNA begins as the egg. Each generation is just a tiny bit different from the parent. Over time those tiny differences add up. So yes the egg always comes first.

I most certainly do know about what evolution is. That you are miss informed about the process of evolution is common by evolution deniers. If you would like to actually learn about it there are free online biology classes from top notch universities.

We could find out who knows more by both enrolling in one and see who gets a better grade. That would really be science. Want to try?
