Hmmm... I've always blamed the missing remote on the couch and the sock epidemic on the dryer. Perhaps they are all controlled by the same evil cake spirit that tells me I'm older than I feel...

I don't know about missing remotes.....but, I believe the lint in our dryer is the cremated remains of those missing socks. Maybe like black holes in space, there are hot spots in the dryer.
Maybe there *is* a link between the missing remotes and the evil cake spirit, though. You both may be onto something there

I'd like to add to satanist makes those candles that relight themselves. They are made so no matter what you can't avoid opening this portal. If you notice missing socks and remotes seem to happen in small households. This is because its easier for the evil cake demons to run around doing these things. Fact!

We have a whole box of unmatched socks, some have been around for years!

Good point on the lint. Now that I think about it, the link content is higher during sock loads than regular loads.
