I live in Ohio, and everyone thought that bringing in the concealed carry permits would solve a lot of the crime problems...it didn't quite work like they planned.
For one thing, they don't do a check on your psycological background, only your criminal background...which means that a bi-polar person could get a concealed carry permit...hooray!
I sure do feel safe with people carrying guns when they could have an uncontrolable mental breakdown at anytime.
Everything has risks. And I think they could do better with the background checks. You know what they say about the people who crack up and start shooting in public? "He was such a nice, quiet young man.. always kept to himself..." So you don't have to have a criminal background. It's a risk, but I'm willing to take it to protect my rights. Better than being one step closer to becoming a communist country, lol.
