OK, so my first Carl Sagan joke was not rated "Funny" by you science types. How about this one: at the end of Johnny Carson's impersonation of Carl Sagan, a big beautiful blonde appears from off stage. She puts her arm in his and he describes how they are going to leave together and go on a date. And the blonde says, "And it's going to cost you MILLIONS, and MILLIONS..."

It was extra funny with Johnny Carson in the sketch, because he had three ex-wives (alimony).

Fun fact: The very first line of his book 'Billions and Billions' reads, "I never said it." He was referring to the title and the parodies of him saying "BI'YUNS and BI'YUNS of years ago..."

Maybe "billion(s)" is an intrinsically funny word, and maybe Johnny Carson knew it. Mike Myers ("Austin Powers") certainly used it to effect. Remember when Dr. Evil (Mike Myers) was plotting with his henchmen/minions, and he said to Number Two (Robert Wagner), "Why should we settle for...BILLIONS, when we can have...MILLIONS?" Get it (Dr. Evil is an idiot)? I know I laughed! In the words of the Old Testament, "The race is not to the swift" (Eccles 9:11).
