Conservative activist Candace Owens addressed a House Judiciary Committee hearing on Hate Crimes and White Nationalism on Tuesday and said the left uses such terms for "fear mongering, power and control."

She nailed it.

Candace Owens to Congress: Left Uses Terms Like White Nationalism For Power, To Scare Brown People

hislegacy, tell me honestly, do you take this woman seriously? Do you honestly believe she speaks the truth? Do you find your beliefs align with hers? Honestly?

I think most of her stuff is an act. It's gained her a lot of money.
That's why I call it material. She's there to preach to the choir. She's like a stand-up comic without the punchlines. I get why conservatives like her but I fail to see how she would appeal to anyone that doesn't already agree with her points.

People who are critical of how the justice system tries rape are just trying to scare women by using the word "rape".

Leftists are using appropriate labels to describe groups, and actions because they're trying to scare people? That doesn't even make any logical sense. If you don't like the term discourage people from participating in the activity. Frankly, this argument seems insultingly "snowflake" like.

Is her argument boiled down to "It was worse before therefore there is no problem now"? Because that's just dummy talk.

Watching the video yet again will not change the fact that she was ignorant about Hitler. She was just trying to throw the word "globalist" out there like a good student of Infowars would.
Hitler was a despot dictator who used hatred for Jews to justify murder, theft and imho, pure evil. It wasn't about working with global companies and organizations - it was about ruling the world.

She also pointed out that the politician used her words out of context. If you really heard what she said about Hitler? Pretty much the same thing you said, but she went further...sounds like you didn't watch the video at all. Globalism is about ruling the world was her point.

Now you may not agree with that point, but it still was her point. What is whacked is the conversation that the congressman took out of context wasn't about Hitler at all BUT Globalism. How she feels that Hitler wasn't a nationalist, but a National Socialist. How people are conflate the terms. lol and they pretty much did it that again at the hearing! There is a difference between the two terms, and people have conflated it to a point where people don't even realize there IS a difference.

I'm not agree with everything she uttered, but that part was very clear.

What school do people go to that teaches NOT to hear anything after the word 'Hitler' is uttered? If people don't feel that they are conflated - debate it. If she used misused the word globalist in her example? Debate it. That shows intelligence, but claiming her statements 'scare' people? lol How they 'feed' some other ideology that is ALSO different than the term nationalist? (Now we are talking about three different terms) THAT was ignorant. They didn't want to debate anything, but want to scare people because she mentioned 'Hitler'!? lol it scares people they say. Humans aren't that wimpy. If they are? They need to turn the TV off. I'm not sure what to say about people that can't hear anything past the word 'Hitler', but no doubt they graduated with honors from that school!

"The biggest scandal in American politics is that Democrats have been conning minorities into the belief that we are perpetual victims all but ensuring our failure. Racial division and class warfare are central to the Democrat party platform. They need Blacks to hate whites, the rich to hate the poor..." Owens concluded.
So I'd argue that's false. I WOULD say that the Dems DO need their to be a desparity between those groups. And that is the kinda thing that research and numbers often bear out.

But I'd also say that Republicans need full on ambivalence if not condescension between those group. If people in the US cared about one another the Republicans would never win a seat. Though to be fair, I'm not convinced the Dems would do THAT great either.

Hitler's main message was one of nationalism, not socialism. For the people who followed him, they were looking to restore Germany to glory and get rid of the evil outsiders trying to change Germany's culture into something else. Keep in mind that in the book written by Hitler's own hand, he said socialism was bad because it was a plot by the Jews. That's why, not surprisingly, Hitler's policies were far less socialist than people on the right like to pretend. He did not seize the means of production for most industries. In fact, he privatized some industry.

Okay, but there's a difference between believing something, and just regurgitating to uphold partisan ideology on an internet forum.

So ... that thing in Charlottesville last year didn't really happen ???

What event happened in Charlottesville last year that you are trying to defame and slander our great Republican President who won the largest vote ever? I don’t think that anything happened last year except in the minds of the hate Trump crowd. The President has united this country after the disastrous Obama regime in such a way we have not seen for decades. The oppressed white Christian masses have a voice for the first time in a long time.

Her comments on the Democrats fear mongering and using race, IMHO, is dead on accurate. Every four years without fail, it's the same old lines. Class warfare and racism is their theme continuously.

As for the ones questioning and accusing the 'hitler' comments, unless you whated her put the good congressman straight on the, and are calling her a liar, I don't think you are doing anything more that repeating his error.

He had his own ideas of what "socialism" meant. He talked a lot about Marxism and Bolshevism, but he never rejected "socialism" as such.

But yes, any attempt to pretend that nationalism wasn't part of the NSDAP's whole thing is fooling themselves.

Well, sure, if you define something counter to what it is defined normally as, you can say you do that. I've looked into it and found a few policies that might be socialist, but not that many.

Ok, yes, I am calling her a liar.

If for no other reason that she calls the KKK a Democrat organization. Sure, Democrats in the South started it, but which side has them now? Democrats? Liberals? Nope. The Unite the Right rally should have taught you all that lesson. Yet, ya'll keep spreading it.

Then I believe you are repeating his error.

Believe what you want. She didn't even have to bring up Hitler. She didn't have to imply that his domestic policies would have been fine if he just stayed in Germany. She did not. Then she had to clarify it was about "globalism". Uh huh.

I think she is pathetic and hungering for attention, and was angry her own words were played back to her.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opin...50dc7b82693_story.html?utm_term=.39408445daff

That would be the Candace Owens whom the alleged perpetrator of the New Zealand atrocity called “the person who has influenced me above all.” It’s not clear whether he was sincere in saying that, but perfectly clear was Owens’s glib dismissal of the notion that her words could have encouraged such evil: “LOL!” and “HAHA.” She said the American left tied her to the carnage because it feared her “Blexit” plan to have black people quit the Democratic Party.

That’s also the same Candace Owens who in December said “if Hitler just wanted to make Germany great and have things run well, okay, fine. The problem is that he wanted — he had dreams outside of Germany. He wanted to globalize.” She later clarified that it was not “fine” that Adolf Hitler was “a homicidal, psychotic maniac.”

Owens, a 29-year-old African American provocateur, first ran an anti-Trump website that made fun of Donald Trump’s genitals, then became a conservative favorite on the Infowars conspiracy website. In recent months, she erroneously claimed that bombs sent to prominent Democrats by a Trump supporter had actually come from leftists; told France to “defend your culture” against Muslims; said “Europe will fall” to Islam and sharia law by 2050; and mused whether “something biochemically happens” to women who do not marry or have children.

President Trump praised Owens in a tweet last year, and the white nationalist Richard Spencer called her “the last stand of implicit white identity, a creation of conservative white people who want to socially signal just how not racist they are.”

She's quite historian.....

“I happen to fall into the window of people that knows my history. I’m a Black American and I know that the NRA was started as a civil rights organization training Black Americans to arm themselves and defend themselves against the KKK, ” Owens claimed on the show.

And the KKK was a Christian mission organization.:doh::doh::doh:

Exactly what I said.

When she first made her comments about Hitler about a month ago, she had to come back and clarify that he was a homicidal maniac type. In her first comment after he played her words back, she said Hitler's problem was that he was a globalist. Then she played catch up.

See post #26

And Hitler's problem was not globalism.

I'm sure the more alt-right members of her audience appreciated the Hitler comments, then the less alt-right members of her audience now can say she didn't really mean what she said.
