Is it okay to not forgive them in this case? I mean, they aren't exactly sorry about it, after all. If they were to apologize I would forgive this person immediately, but the fact that they don't even seek forgiveness when they are clearly in the wrong is bothersome. I know I am compelled to pray for them, but do I even feel like it right now? Nope!

>_< Gah. What do you think???????

God says if we want Him to forgive us we have to forgive others.
If we don't forgive them He won't forgive us.
Forgiving is more about your attitude than about the other person and what they did or their attitude towards you.
Forgiving means to not want to hurt them back, to be vengeful, it's not about forgetting what they did to you it's about letting go of wanting to retaliate.
Forgiving and forgetting are hard for us to do for both the mistakes we do ourselves and what is done by friends and family to us that is why we need to pray for daily help in forgiving.
The great thing about God is that He can control what He remembers and forgets so if He forgives you for a specific sin He forgets it forever.

You have to forgive them, God is VERY clear. We have no choice. We get God's grace, others get our grace through forgiveness. That's why it's not even worth getting mad at others.

Colossians 3:13
bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.

Matthew 6:14-15
14
For if you forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive yours.

When we hold anger and unforgiveness that messes up our relationship with God because He wants to cleanse us of all that unrighteousness, but if we want to hold on to it, then it is a stumbling block.

You hurt yourself more. Love agape love, love expecting nothing in return. For Christ, not yourself. We give Him glory when we are obedient and faithful and others will see Christ in you. That is beautiful.

Another new Christian here trying to learn how to minister to myself just like you. If you continue to read scripture I think you'll get to this place; So overwhealmed with things I never even knew I wanted that the slights of this world are irrelevant. Therefore, I want the same for everyone else including my enemy. When you're awakened in Christ it won't feel like a labor to forgive and your question will dissapear.
