The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Thank Jesus he had to move to Arizona.
That's a powerful story DB. I'd love to know what happens to him. I suspect there is a jail cell with his name on it and then he'll get to know Sheriff Joe. I do have one issue with your post, however:
I LIVE IN ARIZONA!
I believe it. I met him a couple times. He used to go to the St. Geinero (sp?) festival in Peoria near my house. He had a booth and anyone could go up and talk to him. He's a bully, plain and simple. There's no two ways about it. But he was a bully at the right time, in the right place, running for the right office. Phoenix is on the cutting edge of crime. The drugs cross the Arizona border and the homeboys from LA run interference for them. It's big league crime and you need someone who isn't afraid of the consequences to stop them. And someone with the audacity to keep them behind bars at any cost to teach them consequences.
Joe started out poorly funded but these days whatever Joe wants he gets. Tent City is still a fact of life but the need for it has long since passed. He keeps it around as a form of punishment. Everyone knows it and everyone loves him for it. Every ballot measure to increase funding for law enforcement and prisons passes so long as he supports it--every one. However he does think he's above the law and the Justice Department will eventually shut him down.
He is 80 yrs old now isn't he? Probably retire before too long I would think?
