My priest’s son now works for the LA Kings coincidentally!

Sadly, they (mostly) stopped knocking teeth out in the ‘70s. While I sympathize with those who lost teeth, hockey was a lot more exciting back in those days...

Just like saying "eh" at the end of questions, using the word "hoser" frequently, and liking Rush!

Nice!

(I grew up in Canada - liking hockey is almost mandatory)

It’s like asking to speed up chess because all that dang thinking and strategy ain’t excitin’ enough!? Baseball isn’t meant to be fast-paced.

If you can handle the Pentecost Liturgy and Great Lent, baseball is nothing!

make baseball more exciting and we won't have a problem.

They’re not!? No wonder people were looking at me oddly when I showed up to those Liturgies wearing a helmet, shin guards, cleats, and knee pads!

Today Father had a kid read when the other kid who was set to read was already there? I couldn't figure it out. I say "kid," when the "kid" who read was around 27-28 LOL. Anyway, it went pretty badly. He doesn't have the voice for it. We just can't find people who can read worth a darn. Even our tonsured Reader is so-so. The other guy has a tiny, mousey voice. The young guy today read like a speed reader with no intonation, no chanting. It was rough.

I'd read every single Sunday if Father would let me. I'm just super freaked out about asking. But then again, I've told you that. Way too intimidating for me to ask.

just checking.

yeah, I know (imagine talking to your bishop about the priesthood. I still don't know how I walked out of that meeting).

that is why you bring it up. not to demand it, but for his help in discernment. if you already read in Church, and you search the Scriptures daily, it could be your calling. if he says no, or ask later, then you have your answer and no worries.

plus, just like anything, tonsure calls down grace upon you and in the Church as a whole.
