  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It's about $30 a song but if you have intentions of doing something with them, it's worth it.

Also there is the poor mans copyright which is putting a copy in the mail and mailing it to yourself so that the post puts a date on it. Don't ever open it. It's convinient if you ever want to prove something is yours but it won't hold up as well as getting a US copyright.

Cheapest and easiest way is to put your songs, or recordings of them, in an envelope, drop it at the post office, and mail it to yourself.

If anybody steals the song from you later, you'll have a sealed envelope with a US Government dated stamp on it to have the judge open at court.

All you need to do to prove theft of intellectual property is produce evidence that you came up with it first, and you'll be awarded damages.
