again... no evidence, only faith supporting that conclusion...

The faith is a living faith, not a blind belief. You would know that if you were truly the believer you claimed to be.

Yes, other religions and many of those believed to be gods and goddesses are angels---but they are fallen angels! Demons.

Many people would find such disrespect of their faith to be highly offensive. You're essentially insulting entire cultures.

How would you feel if someone made such a sweeping statement like that, about Jesus? It's that kind of talk that leads to people feeling justified about "Holy" wars (now THERE'S an oxymoron)!

What happened to Christ's lessons on tolerance and mutual respect?

No I'm not! I'm speaking the truth. If it feels like an insult to those cultures, it's time they looked to Jesus. Christians don't coddle and shelter lies! Satan depends on us to shelter him...I won't be a part of that nonsense!

I'd rather a cult member get mad at me for telling the truth--than like me for coddling them, and have them retain the lie and go to hell. Where's the reward for that? God won't be giving any rewards for that!

What? People say Antichristian stuff in here every day! It insults, but not me so much as my Lord.

Jesus never taught us to be tolerant of sin and lies. Mutual respect is a misnomer...to love and respect a lost person you...what?

You tell them the truth about Jesus Christ and the good news of the cross!

Bye bye, now!:tutu:

I have to say that I disagree with your sentiment, as I think your attitude is misguided.

Just because someone is of a different faith, or no faith at all, it doesn't mean they deserve derision, they're still Human beings created by God - whether they believe that or not.

The bible talks about this stuff. It is either God's word or it isn't. If you don;t believe it, then you can never be sure of anything. If you do believe that God has given us His word in writing, so we can read and know Him, then you KNOW.

Knowing Christ, and having His spirit living in me, I can know that what I hear, read, or see is error, by knowing the word and that His Spirit confers with my own and He tells me.

It is a knowing like none other.
I think you cannot be sure of anything beyond the truth of God's love. That's part of the challenge of living, that we cannot be sure. Believing in the Bible is a way for people to feel sure, but it's all based simply on a belief, nothing more.

I think that we can live with faith without hanging our faith on rigid adherence to a particular doctrine. I think that Christianity is one path to knowing God. It's one path among many. Christianity is no more true than any other faith is, in my view. It's no less true either. I think that people can grow closer to God through Buddhism and through Judaism and through paganism, just as we can grow closer to God through Christianity.

For me personally, the practice of faith does not require adherence to a particular doctrine. I am fine with not knowing. I believe that as humans, we can know only a portion of truth, never the whole of it.

Today is my birthday. It's my first birthday since my father passed away this past May. His passing was gentle, and God spared him and us anguish in that. I had the blessing of being with my dad for the last 10 hours of his life, as he died. It was a profoundly moving experience and a great blessing. We talked about our love for each other, and he said, "You've made me very happy. I want you to know that." Of course, I knew that, and it was great to share it with him again.

My dad has always accepted me as a gay person. That was never a barrier between us. We have always been very close. I feel sad in the small moments, like when the Red Sox won the World Series this year, and he wasn't here to see it. Or on my birthday, and he isn't here to share it with us. He told me, though, as he lay dying that he was comforted that I have my daughter. And I love my daughter the way he loved me, and that's a deep love, a love that flows from God. I have much to be thankful for on this day.

I'm sure God accepts you as well, like I know Jesus does.

And Happy Birthday!

Enemyparty, I respect you and have long enjoyed reading your insightful posts. But I think this last post goes too far in personally insulting another poster. It also is likely to be reported to the moderators and deleted.

I agree with Floatingaxe about very little. But her personal circumstances are not for us to judge or criticize. She is a human being and a fellow Christian, and she is deserving of respect and kindness no matter how much we may disagree with her or find her statements offensive.

I humbly encourage you to delete your previous post, or at least edit it.

My heart goes out to you, EnemyPartyII. I can't begin to understand the kind of emotional torment you must be enduring right now, or how it may be testing your faith, but I hope that your mind can find some calm so that any action taken under the duress of your loss doesn't adversely affect things in your life which you may regret later.

Still, I understand how bigotry can create feelings of utter contempt for those that have such hateful views, whether that person is a blood relative, a co-worker, or just an anonymous person posting over the internet.
