Seems a large preference for fruit cake. Am I the only fruit and nut ?
I don't think non Calvinists are that worried about it.
IMHO, most threads about Calvinist doctrine are started by Calvinists.
I think we are more into spreading the gospel and prayer. I don't feel a need to defend my position, per se. Only that I disagree
Lots of people out there hurting. I would choose them
Funny, they want to pin down Calvinists, but don't want to be pinned down themselves. Seems a bit disingenuous to me...
I disagree on this. More threads are started by anti-Calvinists trying to "take down" Calvinism. They all seem to think they are "uniquely qualified" to do so, and none of them have succeeded in any more than making themselves appear foolish.
I'm all for spreading the Gospel and prayer. I only defend myself if I'm attacked.
On that, I agree whole-heartedly.

I agree with you, but it does not speak well of those who "aren't worried about it." Since I was among those who was not worried about it, I will tell you that I wasn't concerned about it because I wasn't concerned about theology. My Arminian church got me working 2 days after I was saved. They keep you so busy that you don't have time to think about theology, and they sent *me* to go and make disciples when I had not even been made one myself!
I'm so glad that I was was saved from Jacob Arminius and his (unknowing) followers.

We all chose them don't we?
But then we're all participating here as well aren't we?
Apparently there's room to do both.
I guess you don't get what I'm saying. I've heard some astonishing things as answers when people have questioned their salvation. I'd rather give Christ than your not chosen or elect.
I've never heard a Calvinist say that to a person questioning their salvation in the 30 or 40 years I've been closely associated with them.I guess you don't get what I'm saying. How long have you been in this thread, yet you still make a comment like that? Who here has ever said "you're not chosen" to anyone?! I would pull my hair out if I had any.

I've seen it happen at least 4 times. Not on this thread, but on CF
I'll get an "I am an Arminian" tattoo on my forehead if you can show them to me.I've seen it happen at least 4 times. Not on this thread, but on CF
Was it really a Arminian church or just a non Calvinist church ? The majority of Western churches are neither, or if you want, a bit of both.I agree with you, but it does not speak well of those who "aren't worried about it." Sounds more like a cult. They keep you so busy that you don't have time to think about theology, and they sent *me* to go and make disciples when I had not even been made one myself!
Odd statement. Calvinist on this forum have complained of being mis-represented by false statements of what they believe. And here you are, thatbrian, of doing the same.I'm so glad that I was was saved from Jacob Arminius and his (unknowing) followers.
Was Jacob Arminus chosen (in your view)? How long have you been in this thread, yet you still make a comment like that? Who here has ever said "you're not chosen" to anyone?! I would pull my hair out if I had any.

More accurately, in practice, it was a Pelagian church, which most are by default.
Jacob Arminius was a committed reformer. He departed only in the doctrine of puppet theory which had grown after Clavin's death. Which is no different than most Calvinists!I'm so glad that I was was saved from Jacob Arminius and his (unknowing) followers.
Sounds like a cult. My church is nothing like this. It's the American evangelical church. When your starting point is that man, in his sinful state, can be reasoned into the Kingdom, you must send the troops out and get as many "in the boat" as possible. There is no need to catechize, as Christianity has been reduced to the "sinner's prayer".
