-~ * ~- Callous Tears -~ * ~-
My heart is withering away from the world,
I feel my soul draining out of me.
I try to push it all back inside,
My head tries harder to make me believe.
Slowly the words flow through my mind,
My thoughts gently kiss my miserable lips.
I feel the loneliness strain my eye,
A tear drips down past my fingertips.
A stream of moonlight brightens my face,
But the callous tears darken my eyes.
I do not believe that you are gone,
But how can I make myself believe this lie?
Everyday I try not to think of you,
Every night I try so hard not to dream,
But no matter how much I may say you're right,
My heart cannot help but to intervene.
Here I am alone, left without you again,
No longer can I feel the warmth of your touch.
But you cannot hear me; you choose not to see,
My heart won't let go... I need you so much.
