But the Master was offered that by the Time Lord council, which isn't around anymore. As for survivors, the only other real options are Susan - last seen on Earth after the Dalek invasion - and Romana, who's stuck in E-space. It's possible the Master is also out there somewhere, you can never tell with him, but you'd have thought the Doctor would know about it.
As for the Doctor getting more regenerations, I think that would be a bit of a cheat. I think it would mean a lot more if he did actually just run out of regenerations and die for good. But whatever Russel T. Davis thinks on the matter, we've got a couple more lives left before we have to jump that hurdle.

If you have not already got it I recommend the New DR Who Soundtrack album with music from Murray Gold.

The haunting theme from "Doomsday" is worth the price alone. (I could be walking down the Aisle to that one!) Not to mention the excellent "Impossible Planet" theme.

Here's a thought...I was having it on the way into work this morning.

If there is an alternative universe with an alternative Pete and Jackie Tyler, an alternative Mickey and an alernative Harriet Jones could there be an alternative Doctor in this other universe ...what do you think he would be like?

Talking about David Tennant he will be appearing in a one off drama called Recovery on Sunday on BBC 1 along with fellow "Runaway bride" actor Sarah Parrish.

Tamsin Greig (the nurse in Long game) won a Laurence Olivier award for her role in "Much ado about nothing" as Beatrice recently in London. A role that Sarah Parrish played brilliantly in "Shakespeare Retold" recenlty on the Beeb along side Billie Piper who played Hera.

Talking of Runaway Bride Katherine Tate will be appearing on British TV this evening in a one off comedy "The Mothers Handbook"

speaking of music, I enjoy listening to KLF's album that had the Doctor Who themesong redone several different ways. It was fun to listen to. I have it here at work and listen when I desperately need to smile, which is happening more frequent lately.

Ooh have to look out for that.

Speaking of music does anyone remember an 80s group who did a one off called "Doctoring the TARDIS"?

Sings "Doctor whoooo hey, Doctor who, doctor whooo hey"

I also recommend the Craig Pilkington website from Manoptican for other variations.

It was also a big disco song over here for a while, but that was in the early 90's. (I don't think that anyone dancing to it had the foggiest idea what was being sung, or what it meant. LOL.)
