I think that 'Father's Day' and 'Idiot's Lantern' count as historical episodes. They were still very different eras, even if there are still people who remember them. 'Unquiet Dead' probably qualifies too, but there's less emphasis on the historical era there, and the same applies to 'Tooth and Claw'.

The one about Queen Victoria would be an historical one, too, but I am not sure where it falls in the schedule.

How is Father's Day an historical episode? (You'll have to remind me which one is Father's Day.)

Father's Day was the one where The Doctor and Rose travel back to 1987, and the day Rose's dad was killed. Rose creates huge problems in the timeline when she takes the opportunity to save her dad from being hit by a speeding car...and the Doctor has to put it all right again.

God bless,

V. L.

Hot scoop for you. I saw Anthony Stewart Head (the Headmaster...School reunion) shopping in Oxford street today. (I was shopping for valentines day!)

John Barrowman did an interview in a local London paper in which he stated that he and David Tennant live in the same building. He prefers Torchwood to Dr Who as the show was written for him apparently.

I enjoyed fathers day...my dad died in 82 he drowned. This episode might explain why the Doctor does not tend to interfere in his own timeline.

When we went to Cardiff last summer, a local pointed out the apartment block where David Tennant stays while filming Doctor Who. DS wanted to knock on his door to say 'hi!'. We contented ourselves with staring at it for a full 20 minutes in the hope that he may appear on his balcony! There are apartments available in the same block on holiday let, not the most expensive I've ever seen especially when considering who your neighbour might be!!

Yes that was a very sad episode. Several times things on Dr. Who have made me feel like crying!
I watched Doomsday/Army of Ghosts the other night. I find where the Doctor Walks up to the breach and puts his ear to it and we see Rose on the other side crying and then he walks away and we realise that the Doctor is inevitably a lonely traveller.

I think it's debatable as to whether he is the last timelord. Perhaps it is true that he's in his last body as a timelord, but as for the last of the timelords...

I recall him mentioning a son in times past.
However in The Five Doctors the master is offered a complete new set of regenerations if he helps so the door is open for the Doctor to figure out how to get a new regeneration so it may not be the end of him yet.
