The special Sabbath-S is where Passover is on the day of rest.
Here: John 19:31
Now it was the day of Preparation, and the next day was to be a special Sabbath. Because the Jewish leaders did not want the bodies left on the crosses during the Sabbath, they asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies taken down.

The contention is two-fold. 1). A High (special) Sabbath doesn't always occur on the 7th day. 2) The Jewish calendar in use at the time of Yeshua wasn't reckoning Abib with the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th day occurring on Shabbat. Nisan/Nissan was in use by then with a different reckoning for which days fell on Shabbat.

Matthew 28:1-2 (CJB)
1 After Shabbat, as the next day was dawning(16 Nissan, 1st day), Miryam of Magdala and the other Miryam went to see the grave.
2 Suddenly there was a violent earthquake, for an angel of Adonai came down from heaven, rolled away the stone and sat on it.
According to Matthew Yeshua arose the 1st day of the week(16 Nisan).

Mark 16:9 (KJV)
9 Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week(16 Nissan), he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.
According to Mark Yeshua arose the 1st day of the week.

Luke 23:54-56 (CJB); 24:1-3 (KJV)
54 It was Preparation Day(13 Nissan, 4th day), and a Shabbat was about to begin(14 Nissan, 5th day of week).
55 The women who had come with Yeshua from the Galil followed; they saw the tomb and how his body was placed in it.
56 Then they went back home to prepare spices and ointments. On Shabbat the women rested, in obedience to the commandment;(15 Nissan, 7th day of week)
1 Now upon the first day of the week(16 Nissan), very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.
3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
Verses 54-55 indicate that Yeshua was crucified on a "High" (special) Shabbat(13 Nissan). According to many this "High Shabbat"(13 Nissan) occurred on the 5th day of the week. The Shabbat before Pesach is called "Shabbat Hagadol" (the "Great Shabbat")

These verses do indicate that Yeshua was crucified on the Day of Preparation(13 Nissan). One thing to consider is that by Yeshua's time the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th was ancient history. Even by the time of Moses the Hebrew calendar didn't recognize the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th as always occurring on Shabbat. For example the Jewish people were commanded by Moses to take a lamb and tie it to their bedposts on Shabbat, the 10th day of Nissan five days before they were to leave Egypt. This indicates that Shabbat no longer occurred on the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th of the month. Apparently 400 years in Egypt and possibly even after the Deluge.

John 20:1-2 (CJB)
1 Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Miryam from Magdala went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the tomb.
2 So she came running to Shim‘on Kefa and the other talmid, the one Yeshua loved, and said to them, “They’ve taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they’ve put him!”
According to John Yeshua arose the 1st day of the week.

Scriptures do not support your Abib calendar ...

1. Lord's Supper on the 6th day(13 Abib),
2. Crucifixion occurred on the 6th day(13 Abib)
3. Yeshua's Resurrection occurred three days later
on the 2nd day of the next week(16 Abib).

The Lord's Crucifixion occurred later on same day as the Lord's Supper ... Lord's Supper was proceeding during the beginning of 13 Nissan; Yeshua arrested at midnight; The Rooster crows at dawn; Yeshua hung on the cross; Yeshua placed in the tomb before sunset, 13 Nissan).

Mark 16:1

When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of Jacob, and Salome, they had bought spices so that they might go to anoint Yahshua's body.

Luke 23:56

Then they went home and prepared spices and perfumes. But they rested on the Sabbath in obedience to the commandments.

Luke 24:1

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb.

The word "day" is not in the original text.

John 19:40

Taking Jesus’ body, the two of them wrapped
it, with the spices, in strips of linen. This was in accordance with Jewish burial customs.

So you agree with CherubRam that Yeshua died on Abib 13??? The Passover lambs were slain on Abib 14 (Exodus 12:6; Leviticus 23:5; etc.). Isaiah 53 tells us it was YHWH who had a major part in His Son's death. Did He have His Son slain as the Passover Lamb on the wrong day?

First you wrote; Matthew 28:1-2 (CJB)

How can you have Abib 16 on the first day in Matthew 28:1-2, but then say, "Yeshua's Resurrection occurred three days later on the "2nd day of the week (16 Abib)"?

Some aspects worth considering :) ...

1. The 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th always falling on the 7th day of the week only applied before earth's Great Deluge.
2. The names of the Hebrew months (e.g. Abib-barley reckoning, Adar I, Adar II) didn't come into use until after the Hebrews entered the promised land.
3. The Babylonian month name Nisan/Nissan was familiar to the Jews during the time of Yeshua.
4. The scripture verses in Luke 23:54-56 are critical to the timeline of key events leading up to Passover(14 Nissan).
54 It was Preparation Day(13 Nissan, 4th day), and a Shabbat was about to begin(14 Nissan, 5th day of week).
55 The women who had come with Yeshua from the Galil followed; they saw the tomb and how his body was placed in it(13 Nisan before sunset.
56 Then they went back home to prepare spices and ointments. On (High) Shabbat(14 Nisan, 5th day, Thursday) the women rested, in obedience to the commandment;
5. The killing and roasting of the Passover lambs occurred on the Day of Preparation. The Lord's Last Supper; His arrest; Crucifixion and Placing in the tomb occurred on the Day of Preparation.
6. The manmade Oral Law of Rabbinic Judaism ... The Shabbat before Pesach is called "Shabbat Hagadol" (the "Great Shabbat") ... sometimes rubs against Yahweh's Torah as well as the Gospel accounts. Apparently Chabad is referring to the previous Shabbat on the 7th day.
7. Different sects of Judaism don't always agree on the interpretation of when the "Great Shabbat" occurred during the Feast of Pesach.
8. The Day of Passover(14 Nissan) is considered by many to be a "High Shabbat" as there is much to do (work) on the preceding Day of Preparation.
9. The YLT of John 20:1 has been the cause of some confusion ... And on the first of the sabbaths, Mary the Magdalene doth come early (there being yet darkness) to the tomb, and she seeth the stone having been taken away out of the tomb ... this could refer to the first sabbath of Unleavened Bread and the counting of the Omer.
10. The Day of Passover and the First Day of Unleavened Bread both occurred on 14 Nissan. However, during the time of Yeshua the Jews may have only recognized Passover as a "High Shabbat" when it fell on the 7th day of the week in recognition of the Pre-flood calendar (same for other major Feast Day that occurred on the 7th day of the week).
11. The Bible is pretty clear that three 24 hr days had to elapse before Yeshua arose. Mark 8:31 says ... "and after three days rise again" (at least 72 hrs).
12. The best timeline for Yeshua's Crucifixion is on the Day of Preparation(13 Nissan, Thursday) with His Resurrection occurring on the first day of the week(16 Nissan).
13. The problem that still remains is reckoning when a High Shabbat occurred in relation to the 7th Day Sabbath. Here's another timeline ...
54 It was Preparation Day(13 Nissan, 5th day, Maundy Thursday), and a Shabbat was about to begin(14 Nissan, 6th day, Friday).
55 The women who had come with Yeshua from the Galil followed; they saw the tomb and how his body was placed in it.(13 Nissan, Maundy Thursday?, before the stone was rolled in front of tomb)
56 Then they went back home to prepare spices and ointments(14 Nissan, Friday ~ It's been suggested that preparing spices and ointments would have been permitted when Passover didn't occur on the 7th day). On Shabbat(15 Nissan, Saturday) the women rested, in obedience to the commandment;(7th day)

These verses do lend some credence to a "Maundy Thursday" scenario with both the Lord's Last Supper and His Crucifixion occurring on 13 Nissan ...
13 Nissan, Maundy Thursday ~ Day of Preparation & Crucifixion
14 Nissan, Friday ~ Passover (possibly not a High Shabbat?)
15 Nissan, Saturday ~ 7th Day Sabbath
16 Nissan, Sunday ~ 1st Day Resurrection

Oh, me Oh my, what do we then make of scriptures that say, "on the third day" and "after three days rise again." IF anyone can figure out how all the relevant Gospel scriptures (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) support each other with a consensus it will be a first. Does it really matter in that we ALL agree Yeshua HaMashiach AROSE!

Scriptures do not support your Abib calendar ...
1. Lord's Supper on the 6th day(13 Abib),
2. Crucifixion occurred on the 6th day(13 Abib)
3. Yeshua's Resurrection occurred three days later
on the 2nd day of the next week(16 Abib).

How can you have Abib 16 on the first day in Matthew 28:1-2, but then say, "Yeshua's Resurrection occurred three days later on the "2nd day of the week (16 Abib)"?
Please pay closer attention as i never said i believed that Yeshua arose on the 2nd day of the next week. Rather i said ... Scriptures do not support *your Abib calendar ... *your being a reference to *CherubRam's Abib calendar. That calendar is more likely relevant to the days before the Great Deluge (7th, 14th, 21st, 28th always occurring on the 7th day). Long before the 12 Hebrew tribes ever existed (and what was to become known as the Abib barley harvest) mankind didn't refer to the months by the Hebrew names (e.g. names like Abib, Adar I, Adar II and the other names used after they entered the Promised Land).

After the Worldwide Catastrophic Deluge the earth's relative tilt in relation to the moon was forever changed so that the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th no longer (always) occurred on the 7th day of rest.

5. The killing and roasting of the Passover lambs occurred on the Day of Preparation. The Lord's Last Supper; His arrest; Crucifixion and Placing in the tomb occurred on the Day of Preparation.
These two points contradict Torah. Point 4 has the Preparation Day on Abib 13. Point 5 has it on the day the lambs were killed. They were killed on Abib 14, not 13. Abib 14 was both the preparation day and the day the lambs were killed.

The Day of Passover and the First Day of Unleavened Bread both occurred on 14 Nissan.
This conflicts with Leviticus 23:5-6.

The Bible is pretty clear that three 24 hr days had to elapse before Yeshua arose. Mark 8:31 says ... "and after three days rise again" (at least 72 hrs).
The Bible does not mention "three 24 hr days". That is an assumed interpretation of "three days and three nights".

Your post did not make that clear. It seemed your three points were refuting his position.

However, you are agreeing with him, against Torah, that Yeshua was killed on Abib 13, correct?

The reason you favor this timeline is because you believe 14 Nissan occurred on the 4th day, Wednesday. There is more than enough reason (scripture) that 14 Nissan occurred on the 5th day, Thursday.

Anyone can prepare a colorful authoritive looking chart, but just because it looks impressive doesn't mean it's correct. It's just as likely (using relevant scripture) that 14 Nissan occurred on the 5th day of the week.

Good question... which I have not been able to reconcile as of yet. If I lock in Nisan 16 with Sunday, then it freezes ever other date. If I lock in First fruits with Sunday "after the Sabbath", then Passover can happen any day of the week.

Here is my deal with the events and days from Crucifixion to Resurrection.
The Reconciliation of several factors
Three days and three nights
Unleavened Bread - first day - Sabbath
Sabbath - Preparation Day - Sabbath
Weekly Sabbath
First fruits - "after Sabbath"

As you know the chain of events also effects Pentecost. Pentecost is calculated from First Fruits. In Leviticus 23:10-11 it tells us which day is First Fruits in the Festival of Unleavened Bread. It is simply the day "after the Sabbath".

Lev 23:10 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the first fruits of your harvest unto the priest: And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it.

Yes, it's probable (relevant scripture) that 13 Nissan occurred on the 4th day of the week when Yeshua was crucified.

However, scripture does lend some credence to a "Maundy Thursday" scenario with both the Lord's Last Supper and His Crucifixion occurring on 13 Nissan, Day of Preparation ...
13 Nissan, Maundy Thursday ~ Day of Preparation & Crucifixion
14 Nissan, Friday ~ Passover (possibly not a High Shabbat so preparing spices was permitted)
15 Nissan, Saturday ~ 7th Day Sabbath
16 Nissan, Sunday ~ 1st Day Resurrection

However, this timeline doesn't allow for "on the third day" or "after three days rise again" unless one does some partial day interpretation as counting for a full day.

As you may already be aware Yahweh's Torah instructions and the actual Passover timeline doesn't always parallel or juxtaposition with today's Rabbinic Judaism's timeline for the days of the Feast of Passover and Unleavened Bread.

At one time (perhaps during Yeshua's lifetime) both the Passover and the first day of Unleavened Bread could have been celebrated on 14 Nissan. It's not out of the question that 13 Nisan actually occurred on the 4th day of the week, Wednesday in order to satisfy "on the third day" and "after three days rise again."

Don't be too hasty to conclude that just because someone disagrees with you they are wrong :)

Edited Afterthough: "On the third day" could be interpreted to mean that Yeshua's resurrection occurred sometime into the third day (the 1st Day, Sunday). So for example Yeshua could have arose about 11 hrs into the third day while it was still dark, just before sunrise.

That account does not agree with the bible. The New Testament account agrees with the Biblical Calendar, but not the Civil Hebrew Calendar.

The 15th is Sunday, and no regular work was to be done that day ALSO. The Women did not attend Christ,s grave that Sunday, because it was against the law.
The Passover and the Festival of Unleavened Bread
4 “‘These are the Lord’s appointed festivals, the sacred assemblies you are to proclaim at their appointed times: 5 The Lord’s Passover begins at twilight on the fourteenth day of the first month. 6 On the fifteenth day of that month the Lord’s Festival of Unleavened Bread begins; for seven days you must eat bread made without yeast. 7 On the first day hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work.

Here is another interesting aspect for you to consider. When just looking at the terms for Sabbath [weekly] and Sabbath [feasts], they use different translated words to differentiate.

In Hebrew, there is a difference in the word "Sabbath" referring to the seventh-day versus the word for "Sabbath" that refers to a festival Sabbath. The Hebrew word for a seventh-day Sabbath is shabbath.

Exodus 20:8 “Remember the Sabbath" (shabbath, Strong's Concordance #7676) "day to keep it holy...”.

Shabbath up in the Strong's Concordance reveals that it means, simply, an “intermission” specifically “the Sabbath."

On the other hand, a festival or annual Sabbath in Hebrew like Feast of Trumpets [which is a Sabbath feast] used in

Lev 23:24 ...In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a Sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation

Here in this verse they used a different word, the Hebrew word shabbathown, Strong's Concordance #7677) Strong's Concordance defines shabbathown as “a sabbalism, special holiday, rest, Sabbath."

I believe this is evidence for First Fruits to always follows the seventh-day Sabbath, which falls during the Week of Unleavened Bread.

Leviticus 23:15-16 - “And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the Sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven Sabbaths shall be complete: Even unto the morrow after the seventh Sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD.”
