I didn't read all the previous posts, and I'm sure there's been quite a debate. as someone very interested in health, I've looked quite intently at the coffee issue. I quit coffee long ago, so I wasn't looking for person usage reason, but because I want to know the truth. as far as being a sin, It could be for one person, but maybe not for another. The Bible is clear, however, that we are not to be under the power of anything but Almighty God's power and guidance. So if it's an addiction, be it coffee, shopping or mowing the lawn, there is sin involved.
But here's the thing from a health topic, yes it has antioxidants, but all plants have them, even poisoness ones. And from the point of view of your adrenal glands, which, by the way, are involved in more than fifty of your bodies processes and functions, anything containing considerable levels of caffiene taken on a daily basis--is poinson. We have a certain capacity for energy output. Period. Amen. When we try to use caffiene to push out more energy, it's being robbed from one body system to give the caffeine high to another body system. there's a crash coming. Maybe not today. Maybe not this year or next, but it's coming. There's no way around that unless God decides to give you a miracle. It's just how bodies are made. and it would be kinder to ourselves and our temples if we would eat good, whole foods and superfoods, drink appropriate quantities of filtered water, supplements, etc, and maximize the energy that is ours to have, rather than allowing caffeine create the illusion of having more energy. Because there will always be a price to pay, when you rob Peter to pay Paul. be it your check book or your body, in the end, if the bottom line doesn't balance neither do you.
Spoken by an ex-ten-cup-a-dayer. I know of what I speak. I've been there, so I'd appreciate if you didn't do that. Please pm me if you would like more info.
