  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I thought I had made my last post here... but that was before I was stalked. Obviously, your level of uncomfortability is much more than even I estimated. So much so that some of you felt it necessary to come running after me by sending private messages yelling at me that I'm ignorant and that God doesnt exist. Me thinks thou dost protest too much.

Since you guys were so compelled to stalk me, I thought I would look in just to see if what I thought would happen did in fact happen. The answer is 'yes', as you have all started congratulating one another and patting each other on the back. Smiling and saying, "Boy we showed him!". I guess it helps to ease that uncomfortable feeling - the "pack mentality" where you can grunt together and beat your chests and try to forget, at least for a moment, that you could very well be in eternal danger.

Running away will not make science any less damaging to your beliefs.

Another creationist abandons their trainwreck of a thread...

Exactly what I was thinking. We "evolutionists" are so uncomfortable because of his questions that we... continue to come to the thread and address his points. When his points get challenged, he runs away. And yet we are the "uncomfortable" ones?

This is another failed attempt by a creationist to misunderstand science in order to promote their particular religious beliefs.
I guess this is another failed attempt at trying to convert the evil atheists and bailing out when it didn't work. I usually see two ways of exiting: A) Bowing out of the thread quietly and B) claiming that everyone is lost and wrong and there is no hope.

We pity you. We only hope that you serve as an example to others.

Feel better now? Dont worry, it wont last. That gnawing feeling will come back. When you are alone. Maybe lying in your bed at night. Just remember, if you ever try to earnestly search for Him, you will find Him.

And again, you illustrate your ignorance. This is not our fault. It is yours. Energy is measureable, but a thermometer is preferable to a yardstick.

Energy can be measured, but not with a yardstick. Typical of a Creationist to choose the wrong tool ...

Uhhhhh.... I think that was the point that I was trying to make. That you guys trying to measure and test God (who IF He existed would be super-natural) with natural tools and natural law, would be as insane as trying to measure energy with a yardstick. You keep trying to say you wont believe unless you can test and measure Him, but you are trying to use the wrong tools! I guess that point just went right over your head. But thanks for playing. Tiffany has some lovely parting gifts for you...

And that's a lie, I spent 8 years of my life trying to find him - If he really does exist he only brought suffering to my life. My grandmother died(and I really loved her), I was in several accidents that could have killed me, I became emotionally insecure and unstable - Eventually peaking in me avoiding people and yet I kept turning to God looking for advice, I never got a single reply or sign and if those accidents, my grandmothers death and me becoming unstable are a sign for God - Then I really don't want to believe in him, especially not worship him.

Really, I sought for him and he never showed a single sign - Eventually I just dropped Religion, I got out of my emotionally insecure state, became stable and got my friends back, I got over my grandmother's death and realized my stupidity was what caused those accidents. Now I'm happy, because I left Christianity and abandoned God.

Hmmm, then why are you blaming God for those things? You admit that your own stupidity caused the accidents. Also, I got news for you: just about everybody loses their grandmother - you see, they are typically older than you. That's the way it works. And finally, with your emotionally insecure state, it sounds to me like you were having a pity party and finally got up and decided to do something about your life ("became" stable and got your friends back).

Yeah, that makes sense. Blame God for your own stupidity (your words), the death of someone who is supposed to die much sooner than you, and your decision to wallow in self-pity. Maybe you should look in the mirror before you start blaming God for all your issues.

My grandmother wasn't very old, she lived a healthy life and for some reason God decided to give her cancer and spent the last years of her life going through chemotherapy, never sleeping, losing all her hair, becoming depressed and basically suffering - Oh and did I mention she was a Fundamentalist Christian?

You missed the part where God didn't answer any of my prayers and you assuring if you looked for him you would find him, I didn't - So don't come here and say if you look for God you'll most certainly find him.

Also, you're a very arrogant Christian - But that's just another reason as to why I avoid Christianity.

Don't give up on God just yet, He's there, I promise you. :prayer:

Thanks, but it's too late for me and it's too late for him to reconcile the situation - Even if he does exist I'd prefer not to spend eternity with him as I'd be [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]ed off at him constantly.

Really? I thought ape man was a fact and only looneys didnt believe in it. Do tell...

.

So... ape-man is a joke. Hmmm, I guess atheists better start rethinking their strategem.

So this ape-like creature co-existed with man, instead of man evolving from him..... interesting.

Sort of like man and chimps today, huh? I always wondered why if man evolved from monkeys why some quit evolving and were still monkeys.

So should we start calling you "jumping-to-ridiculous-conclusions man"? Because you are completely misinterpreting what's been discovered.

I guess I forgot the part of the Bible that says, believe on Jesus and you will live a full long life, never get sick, never have any troubles, make a lot of money, have a vacation home in Hawaii.....

You are basing your judgements on your limited knowledge of the situation. We as humans dont have infinite knowledge like God. You have no idea why things happened the way they did, but God does. The question is, do you have enough faith to trust God when you dont understand why?

You aren't really trying to evangelize for Jesus with this thread.... are you? 'Cause if you are, you are doing a [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]-poor job of it. Your condescending, obnoxious, insulting posts are more likely to drive people here away from Christianity, rather than toward it. Nice job!

No, I think you are here for another reason... to convince yourself that you are right, we are wrong, and that people who disagree with you are going to burn in hellfire for all eternity. Your faith must be really weak to be so threatened by what science tell us. I will pray for you..

You mean you actually had a point to make?? Its really hard to tell with Creationists sometimes. Sorry I missed it!

And to think you called me arrogant.
Saying that if God exists, he does not enter your list of "entities I want to be in the neighbourhood of eternally" is not arrogance. It's just not taking a particular liking to that certain entity for what he has done or failed to do. Personally, I'd rather spend my life in hell rather than worship the christian God. That has nothing to do with arrogance.

Drive people away from Christianity? So, let me guess... if I posted about flowers bending in the breeze and how much I love you, you would become a Christian, right?

Hey dude, you get what you put into threads here. If you start out obnoxious and condescending, you get it right back at you. But I doubt it really matters to you.

I don't know about all the others you quoted but I resent being added to your little list. I did not congratulate anyone when you left. I made a statement to you, not anyone else. I still stand by that statement.

I guess it helps to ease that uncomfortable feeling - the "pack mentality" where you can grunt together and beat your chests and try to forget, at least for a moment, that you could very well be in eternal danger.
Kind of like what happens at church, huh? Weekly, or more frequent, reinforcement of religious beliefs seems to be a requirement. I find it odd that something you claim is fact, and blatantly obvious to anyone who will look for it, needs to be reinforced in the flock so often...

Show evidence that such an entity exists and I'll consider it.

If you want to try to convert the heathens with hellfire and damnation speeches you're a few centuries too late. You should have been around before the Enlightenment period.

Yeah, I'm the one who is condescending and obnoxious.
You said it, not me.

What did you think you were going to accomplish by posting this article? Did you think we became knowledgeable in science because we thought it was inerrant?

<staff edit> We're okay with the fact that science makes mistakes, but the entire point of science is to discover the truth as much as it can, rectifying mistakes when made, and mistakes will be made. This is nothing new to us, and I simply do not get why you're persistent in showing us that science makes mistakes. I never counted on it being perfect, but it's the only thing we have to determine what is true, so if the scientists made a mistake, I have to throw out my previously held belief for a stronger, more accurate one. That sounds fairly reasonable to me.

You're insulted that we're accusing you of being xxxxxxx, but I'm insulted that you think I'm so much of an idiot as to believe that science is absolutely perfect all of the time, and that I treat it like a religion. You are xxxxxxx, and instead of actually educating yourself about this subject, you act like xxxxx and xxxxx. At this point, you're treading on the grounds of xxxxxx. Are you an xxxxx? I don't know right now, but I have a feeling I'll soon find out.

Thanks for making my point. It's usually people that have nothing to add to a discussion that resort to name calling and flaming. I have found that it is the typically response from an atheist when they get backed into a corner and have to admit that they have absolutely no natural explanation for the beginning of the universe. It exposes the achilles heel, and makes them uncomfortable, so they resort to lashing out. Your post is an excellent 'Exhibit A'. Thank you.

You do know you haven't "won" by getting us to say we don't know how the universe began, don't you? Please, for the love of your god, familiarize yourself with God of the Gaps.

It exposes the achilles heel, and makes them uncomfortable, so they resort to lashing out. Your post is an excellent 'Exhibit A'. Thank you.
Where were we "uncomfortable"? All of us, if I remember correctly, that replied to your question about the origins of the universe freely admitted that nobody knows where it came from. Goddidit, unfortunately for you, is not a valid explanation.

Why exactly do you persist in falsely claiming it makes us uncomfortable?
