  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

this may sound strange, but on the teen thread there was a post about ants. many of the teens were saying they hated them and they always kill them. Some were saying they feel bad doing that. I have always had a guilty conscience after killing a bug, because I figure they are God's creatures too and usually people just think of them as non-important irritating life disturbers. But if you ever study an insect up close they are so incredibly designed, they must be worth something? lol! anyone agree? :D

isn't stepping on a bug on purpose like dis-respecting God's art? :)

The creatures we have in our basement are dangerous. They bite. So we kill them if we can't get them outside. The ones we can shoo out, however, we do so.
I dislike killing bugs as well. The harmless ones, especially. We also have a problem with moths that fly in our house at night (mostly during the summer) and I often catch them and return them to nature :)

I know this is an old thread, but I have to pull it back up because it is close to my heart. I keep tarantulas and I love them sooooo much. They are amazingly beautiful to me and I love to watch them go about their business. God did such a great job on so many different creatures on this earth. I just happen to be able to appreciate the invertebrates more than your average person. ;)
