  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Buddhism in a Nutshell

It's soo hard to get a clear idea of Buddhism in general, because nobody practices just Buddhism. There are three main types and a whole variety that branch from those three. One type may say Buddhism is this, the other may say it is this. So I think, for the best interest of this thread, that we define what all Buddhists have in common in their beliefs and practices. Otherwise, Buddhism is whatever the next guy says it is.

Furor: Very similiar to christianity, just less branches. :)

WayMan: Was that really necessary? Maybe you should go out and read more about wiccans and Neo pagans in general. I would recomend sources that are written BY wiccans and Neo Pagans. :)

Yes it was necessary, and it happens to be the truth. I have been in discussion with Wiccans and "Pagans" on this forum about this very subject, and NONE of them knew what they believed in, apart from one who believed in the "Divine" the problem was that he/she was unable to explain what the divine was.

Faith
Taoist
Lets see, the simple version would be an atheist Taoistic Druid (or is that druidic Taoist? :) ) The more complicated version would be an atheist, Philosophical Taoist, Reformed Druid (of Reformed Druids of North America).

:)

Yeah OK, there is Truth in what you say. But I don't live in hope.

BTW As I asked you once before, Do you follow any reigious path, or are you a non believer, or an atheist?
