I’ve finally realized that Buddha is not one of us.
Buddha denies God’s existence while intentionally implying that he is an Enlightened Incarnation of God.
You say that the Buddha is not apart of "us." Who is "us"? And if you are alluding to those Christians who are short-sighted enough NOT to see the granduer of a man who has affected the lives of millions and millions FOR THE BETTER, well then please remove myself from your little, exclusive club. I want nothing of it.
The comparison of Buddha to Christ... or any holyman and Christ is a difficult, arduous task. If you dedicate yourself to it, every single tenet of your belief system will be challenged. This is a good thing.
God Almighty, Himself, is nothing but a paradox. Seriously, when you examine the very nature of God-- especially withouth blinders of dogma and doctrine,-- you find contradictions everywhere. God is the greatest contradiction ever... and on MANY different levels. Therefore, Buddha's statement that there is no God, but that he is an incarnation of God at the same time, does make sense of God's paradoxical nature. And believe it or not, on one lever or another, this message is congruent to Christ's. But here's the deal, it isn't unless you seek out Buddha's intent. If you read that and dismiss it as a fallacy, in essence, you are throwing your hands up and abandoning truth.
Instead, of dismissing such nonsensical statements, use it as a springboard to greater understanding of not only Buddhism and Christianity, but also the essence of all life.
But then again, if you just want to huddle up with others who are also threatened by the differences in life, so be it. But just know, your actions-- based on your post-- are a result of fear and not love. And fear is the antithesis of the God that we all know.
