...anyone? FreeBSD is pretty nice, though hardware support is abysmal on the desktop. I admit I run it in a virtual machine. The *BSDs are pretty popular on servers though, and if I'm not mistaken, a good portion of the OS X kernel is derived from BSD.

I tried testing FreeBSD out about four years ago, but it wouldn't even boot (or even complete installation? I can't remember) inside Virtualbox. I got a little farther with the media for the PC-BSD derivative, but it encountered some other issue that I can't recall and I gave up the attempt. I'll have to have another go at it when one of the projects I occasionally work on gets its cross-platform efforts into full swing, but I don't know how far out that is.

Yes, the Blue Screen of Death comes free with every version of Windows, and I must admit that on Windows 10 it's pretty nice. But I still don't like it.
