• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

poor girl, she's been reading too many mind-numbing magazines, and brainwashed by the radio...

Actually, with the combined talents and brainpower of these two parents, the baby is actually being raised by the equivalent of an autistic goat.
That's much closer to the truth!

True, but at least she's not brainwashed into thinking that screaming and being unable to actually play instruments makes for good music (I'm of course talking about metal).

This obviously comes from someone who thinks Limp Bizkit and Slipknot are metal.
If you don't know what you're talking about, I suggest not saying anything at all. The good metal is the stuff you have to look for yourself. You won't hear it on the radio or see it on Mtv. I suggest downloading "A Fair Judgment" or "The Drapery Falls" by "Opeth" from any filesharing program. Metal is all about being able to play instruments, all the best guitarists and drummers are in the Metal genre! Most metal bands have a singer that can both growl and sing clean, and they sing much better than 99% of the "singers" you get to hear on the radio. And you know what? They sing and play just as well live as they do on record, since they don't have any money to afford all the fancy singing tone facelifts pop artists use all the time!
Also, the best written songs are in the metal genre too. They don't just go verse - chorus - verse like the uninspired songs you probably love listening to, these are epic songs with emotion-guided movements. Listening to it is like a journey of the mind, and the more progressive the music, the more exciting the journey. Listening to Britney is as exciting a journey as visiting the toilet.

And indeed, the only above average (for pop) song that Britney ever made is Toxic.

I've heard metal, and believe me, it can't compare to goth. It also all sounds the same (although The Sins of Thy Beloved is good because they can actually play the instruments, but they are unfortunately, an exception among the angsty teen rebel without a cause genre that is metal and its subgenres (which also all sound the same)).

you have a very awkward idea of what metal is...

i don't think i've heard a good metal band made up of angsty teens, or one that sounds the same (though that is common in death metal, many of them are Cannibal Corpse ripoffs). And if metal subgenres sound the same, listen to Within Temptation, then Marduk and tell me that sounds the same.

besides, goth, like pure metal is extinct...

The bands aren't made up of angsty teens... their fans are.

As for goth, it will never die! Robert Smith has proved this!
