Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I've heard metal, and believe me, it can't compare to goth. It also all sounds the same (although The Sins of Thy Beloved is good because they can actually play the instruments, but they are unfortunately, an exception among the angsty teen rebel without a cause genre that is metal and its subgenres (which also all sound the same)).

I think it's safe to say you know nothing about metal from this statement of yours.
Ever heard of Metallica, Megadeth, Kreator or Pantera?
Ever heard of Opeth, Bloodbath, Hypocrisy or Death?
Ever heard of Dan Swano, Edge Of Sanity or Darkane?
Ever heard of Emperor, Dimmu Borgir, Immortal or Marduk?

Yeah you're right, none of the artists in those bands can play their instruments...

The ignorance

i do not like Britney Spears at all.

but with that said, she does good at what she does. she's made millions, and hopefully she puts it to good use with raising her child. she sang songs that a lot of people enjoyed. she dressed "sexy" or as i call it "trashy" enough to appeal to those that are actually appealed to that (whether male or female, and please don't take that too far.)

so in the end, people should listen to whatever they want, but hey if anyone wants any ideas of what to listen to, me and others that have posted here, have great advice in which music to listen to...metal...metal...metal...yea that sucked for subliminal messaging.

Actually, with the combined talents and brainpower of these two parents, the baby is actually being raised by the equivalent of an autistic goat.
That's not very nice, from what I've observed they love that baby very much and are both wonderful parents.

What a response this thread has got!!!

I wonder how much observing you've done...
Oh wait, you read the latest gossip magazine! I'm sorry, yes that is indeed a real in-depth study!

And some people think Britney Spears can sing. :)

Whether she has a good voice is a matter of taste, I love her voice, it might not be the biggest and best ever but I like it and so do a few million other people.

The problem is that there are much more talented people out there with more singing talent, more songwriting talent, more instrument playing talent and more integrity, that can barely make a living off of their music.
Then you have people like Britney Spears, 50 cent etc... who have incredibly limited talent, yet they pile up millions of dollars like it's nothing, just because the mass is musically brainwashed and mindnumbed by MTV and the radio.

What voice? She lip-syncs for every live performance! What you're hearing when she "sings" is a studio-processed and pitch-corrected recording. Gimme a break...

C'mon Foo, you know you're a closet fan. ;)

Talent isn't everything though. I don't normally listen to Britney, but sometimes I prefer a catchy melody to a pompous song structure. If Carlinsey likes her, let her be. :)

Personally, I listen to music not because the artist is talented, or has "integrity," or what not. I listen to music because it sounds good and produces emotions in me. It's like food. I judge the food by how it tastes and not by the chef who made it.
Maybe I'm brainwashed by MTV and the radio for listening to music because I enjoy it.

Well, there's a lot of ways of enjoying something, and I think it's a lot more enjoyable to listen to something that you know is both well composed, sounds good, and is skillfully played at the same time. Making something that sounds good isn't hard. Making something that sounds special, and evokes complex, detailed, special emotions, is something entirely else. I think people that only listen to pop music don't even have a clue what music is really capable of.

I know there's a lot of talent out there that doesn't get noticed but it's all about luck in this life isn't it? Britney has a rare quality too, not just about how well she sings or dances but she has a charisma when she's on stage and come on, you can't deny people are fascinated by her, she's in the papers all the time, she's everywhere you look! That's because people want to know about her. It requires more than just talent to be famous.

Well...you know...I...I don't like...her singing or anything...I mean, I hate her singing and stuff, but...well...you know...she's not ugly...when she's wearing make up.

But when she's not, well...

Anybody seen those pics of her trudging through some parking lot with dirty sweats on, barefoot, Cheetos in hand, cigarette dangling from her mouth? Blech!

Yeah, it requires dumb luck, big [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse], a nice ass, a makeup smothered face, and a lot of media attention. In fact, talent is about the last thing you need to become famous. And I already told you why people are fascinated by her and why she is in the papers all the time. Just media attention (and the media makes a good buck out of this too!), and the dumb mass that is ignorant about real good music.
