No ,Mormons believe there are 3 gods in the "godhead" not one .

You have 3 beings not 3 persons in ONE being .

We do not have a mother goddess giving birth to the spirit child named jesus .
We have different gods , different jesus and different holy spirit

Is your god omnipresent?
I mostly wanted to say something so I could subscribe to this thread. Anyway, this use to confuse me for a long time, and asking many different bishops, I received the same answer. God, is our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost in one. They are not three separate God's but are the same (One God). I don't think I fully understand this yet, and I have so much I need to learn. What I do know is I love Jesus Christ with all my heart and I hope to someday know the truth about everything. Until then I'll never say one is totally right, and another is totally wrong. I have very mixed emotions about where I stand, because I believe in many things my Church teaches, and yet I don't understand and question a lot also. Someday I hope to know the complete truth, which I've been asking God to show me. I really don't want to get into any debate about anything, like I said.. I pretty much wanted to make a quick post so I could subscribe and see you guys debate about it..;)

Hi there!

consider me to be God's messenger....

Go back and read the previous 15 postings concerning the difference between the Christ of the New Tesatament and the Christ of the CoJCoLDS's.

The Christ of Christianity is not separated from the Godhead, but is an everpresent part of the Godhead as is God the Father and God the Holy Spirit.

It takes the totality of all three to compromise the totality of the Godhead.

think of the image of the three-leaf clover that I explained and then thing about light and the three properties of light. It takes all three properties of light for light to exist. Without the totality of the three properites, there is no light.

Here is somemore images to go along with your Image. An egg has three parts. All are distinct but all are the egg. All have different functions but all are still the egg. Anything that is alive in nature has three basic parts that make it up.A tree the bark, the wood under the bark and the heart of the tree where sap travels up.

Yes, we get it. You have a persicution complex, no need to keep displaying it. All you do in your posts is whine and complain about Christians and how they "pick on" Mormons. Your posts have no valueable input to them and are nothing but boring repitition and complaints. I for one will be ignoring you from here on out. Mabye when you start contributing something of actual thought value to your posts, someone can PM me and let me know and I will take you off ignore. Until then, I don't have time for immature rants containing no substance.

Hi there!

They are good examples, as is the apple, the seed, the pulp, the peel...

but I don't find an example of the Christian Godhead any better than the example of light... for the three properties permeate the entirity of the light... and without all the properties, there is no light.

For example, you can separate the peel from an apple, or the white from the egg... and you still have an apple or an egg... but separate a property of light, and you don't have light.

Understand? That is the difference in the Christ of mormonism and the Christ of Christianity... the permeating power of the Godhead which is the totality of God, yet three separate persons.

If you have put your faith in the wrong place, then your faith is misplaced.

The Christ of Calvary is the the Christ of the New Testament... I went through the attributes of Christ in a previous posting... the Christ of mormonism is not the same as the Christ of the New Testament.

Oh give me a break!! W e believe in the Christ of the New Testament -that makes us Christian. The Christ that we follow is the sme Christ of the NT. I follow Him, and only Him. I do not follow Satan, in any form. I worship God the Father, through His Son, Jesus Christ, with the Eternal Witness of the Holy Ghost. We just disagree with the interpreations that man, though time, has come up with in regards to certain scriptures in the bible. Where you see a scripture say that God, Christ and the Ghost are one in being, we see that it says that they are One in Purpose and Authority. No where does it say in the bible that God, Christ, and the Holy Ghost are physically the same person.

The differences betwen the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is that we interpret certain key scriptures in the bible differently than everyone else. This is also how many differences between other churches arise.

We, the entire body of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, honor, rever, and treasure in Jesus Christ, as mentioned in the New Testament. We worship only One God, the Eternal Heavenly Father.

For God so loved the world, that he gave HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON.

But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and JESUS STANDING ON THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD.

Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the SON OF MAN STANDING ON THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD.

"FATHER, forgive them, for they know not what they do."

"FATHER, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not MY will, but THINE be done."

"Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I got unto the Father: FOR MY FATHER IS GREATER THAN I."

John 1
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it....14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth....
18No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son,[1] who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

John 12
44Then Jesus cried out and said, "He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me. 45And he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me.

John 20
28And Thomas answered and said to Him, "My Lord and my God!"
29Jesus said to him, "Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

Isaiah 9
6For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 43
10"You are My witnesses," says the LORD,
"And My servant whom I have chosen,
That you may know and believe Me,
And understand that I am He.
Before Me there was no God formed,
Nor shall there be after Me.
11I, even I, am the LORD,
And besides Me there is no savior.
12I have declared and saved,
I have proclaimed,
And there was no foreign god among you;
Therefore you are My witnesses,"
Says the LORD, "that I am God.

Luke 1
47And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.

Philippians 2
The Humbled and Exalted Christ
5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.8And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. 9Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Acts 7
59And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on God and saying, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit."

2 Corinthians 4
3But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. 5For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus' sake. 6For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Colossians 1
15He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.

Colossians 2
9For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; 10and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.

John 14
9Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, "Show us the Father'? 10Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. 11Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.

Matthew 28

The Women Worship the Risen Lord
9 And as they went to tell His disciples,[1] behold, Jesus met them, saying, "Rejoice!" So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him.

Matthew 14
33Then those who were in the boat came and[1] worshiped Him, saying, "Truly You are the Son of God."

(Jesus is worshipped and God said that man must worship NO ONE but God)

Hebrews 1 (God the father speaking of the Son)
6But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says:

"Let all the angels of God worship Him."[1]

7And of the angels He says:
"Who makes His angels spirits
And His ministers a flame of fire."[2]

8But to the Son He says:
"Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;
A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.
9You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness;
Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You
With the oil of gladness more than Your companions."

Hi there!

Emerald Dragon, first of all, I want to congratulate you for replying. That I am aware of, this is the first time you have actually addressed anything that I have posted. I am so honored.

Now.... to address the statements you posted...

Oh give me a break!! W e believe in the Christ of the New Testament -that makes us Christian. The Christ that we follow is the sme Christ of the NT. I
I disagree, and if you can post any scripture from the Bible or passages from the bom to state differently, I would be glad to "recant"... but the character of Christ is changed from that of the New Testament and that which the CoJCoLDS's teaches. When the charater of Christ was changed, then you chose to build your foundational teachings upon a new Christ, which is not the Christ of the New Testament.

I follow Him, and only Him. I do not follow Satan, in any form.

Then, take your apron off.

I worship God the Father, through His Son, Jesus Christ, with the Eternal Witness of the Holy Ghost.

But what you worship is three different gods... and not one Godhead. You have no connection between Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

We just disagree with the interpreations that man, though time, has come up with in regards to certain scriptures in the bible.

We certainly disagree on the interpretations of the man, Joseph Smith concerning "certain scriptures in the bible".

Where you see a scripture say that God, Christ and the Ghost are one in being, we see that it says that they are One in Purpose and Authority. No where does it say in the bible that God, Christ, and the Holy Ghost are physically the same person.

What an old argument, and such a weak one. Of course, everyone KNOWS that God is not physical, but spirit... so your statement is so weak that it isn't worth discussion. Of course, the Bible doesn't say that "physically" a spiritual being is the same as a physical being. <<< see above referenced statement that you made concerning the interpreations of man... and be accountable for the statement you just made>>>>

The differences betwen the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is that we interpret certain key scriptures in the bible differently than everyone else. This is also how many differences between other churches arise.

Let me repost the above statement...

We just disagree with the interpreations that man, though time, has come up with in regards to certain scriptures in the bible.

We certainly disagree on the interpretations of the man, Joseph Smith concerning "certain scriptures in the bible". Now apply your affirmation that man, through time, has come up with in regards to certain scriptures in the bible....

We, the entire body of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, honor, rever, and treasure in Jesus Christ, as mentioned in the New Testament. We worship only One God, the Eternal Heavenly Father.

Well, I have a question... if the totality of God is Heavenly Father, then you don't see Jesus Christ as being God...

therefore, we have a bigger problem and I initially thought... for you certainly are not in a relationship with the Jesus Christ of the New Testament.

The Bible tells you that Jesus is worthy of worship...

Hebrews 1:6
And again when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

Every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess... Isn't that worship???

I do look forward to more conversations,

Why Does the Bible Mention the Right Hand of God?

In Hebrew, Greek, and English the right hand is a metaphor for power and honor.

The use of "right hand" in reference to God is figurative. Since God does not have a physical right hand (apart from the Incarnation) and is not confined to a physical location, when the Bible speaks of His right hand, it speaks figuratively or metaphorically.

Psa 63:8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.

We worship only One God-Heavenly Father. Christ does have a connection with God-he is God's Only Begotten Son.

The bible, through the years, has been interpreted differently for different pasages. This is how divisions in churches has occured. This is why we claim to be different from others. We claim to have the correct, and full, interpretation of the scriptures.

I say that we only worship God, because we do. We honor Christ, and 'worship' Him as the Messiah, our Saviour, and Advocate with the Father, but God has said only worship God (that is why I have a slight problem with saying that we worship Christ.)
We do certainly honor Him, above all else, except God. Yes, we do believe in the time when every tounge shall tell, and every knee shall bend.

So you "MISSPOKE" before when you said that you worship Jesus? Do you pray to jesus? Or is the expression that you guys worship Jesus just a concession to traditional Christianity ?

You may pray to ONE heavenly father but the number of heavenly fathers is endless right ? One day you may be a heavenly father too right?
Other than the council to organize the world do they all get together? Is the heavenly father still a part of his fathers family?

Why are all your scriptures subject to change and redefinition then . Or is there no such thing as truth ?
