Boebert denounces new Biden Administration strategy to combat antisemitism as an effort to target conservatives

President Biden on Thursday released the country’s first national strategy for combating antisemitism, a landmark lauded by Jewish and anti-hate groups as progress toward addressing the increasing instances of violence and bias toward Jewish people in the United States.

But Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) saw the effort as an attack on those of her political persuasion. “When they say stuff like this, they mean they want to go after conservatives,” she tweeted. “Their tactics are straight out of the USSR’s playbook.”

Her comments quickly attracted criticism from detractors who accused her of conflating a straightforward campaign against antisemitism with an assault on the right — and, by implication, equating conservatives with antisemites.

“If anyone finds opposition to hate threatening, they need to look inward,” [Deputy WH Press Secretary] Bates said in a statement. “Congresswoman Boebert should also Google the Soviet Union’s long, repulsive history of antisemitism.

Biden on Thursday announced a four-pillar strategy to confront hate in a video address, outlining a plan that includes more than 100 steps for the government to take. The goals include increasing awareness and understanding of antisemitism, ramping up security for Jewish communities, reversing the normalization of discrimination, and improving on collective efforts to counter hate.
Does it quack and waddle?

American Jews are Americans so they are more concerned with issues in their home country.
That doesn't fly. Every [sane] Jewish person should be against antisemitism. This is something all Jews have in common with each other worldwide. It is a bond of solidarity they share, regardless of nationality. Trump is against antisemitism. So if there is a disproportionate number of Jewish people in media, it just does not compute that they would vilify Trump, when Trump took such a hard stance against their principal foe, the Iranian regime. A regime whose eschatology involves wiping the Israeli people off the map.

Yes, it was. Donald rescinded it against our allies' wishes because his base wanted him to be tough.
How would aiding Iran's nuclear program make him look tough to his base? It would have the opposite effect.

President Trump’s unilateral withdrawal from the JCPOA allowed Iran to reinitiate their nuclear program; he largely did this because Obama crafted it…that’s all.
If Obama did it, it was ipso facto “bad”, and if undone, “good”.
International policy is fraught with subtlety and nuance, neither of which are Mister Trump’s forte.

The city with the largest Jewish population in the world isn’t in Israel.

How is standing up against Iran's pogrom against Jewish people the world over supposed to make Trump a bad person in the eyes of the Jewish people? Why would it?
Why do you keep talking about the Middle East when you're trying to make a point about Americans living in America?

He knew the nuclear deal was wildly unpopular with the base, so he took a tough guy stance and canceled it. Allowing Iran to have nuclear power but no enriched, weapon-grade uranium kept them from developing nuclear weapons. I don't think the base ever understood that.

Because I'm saying there exists an outspoken solidarity among all Jewish people the world over.

That's gotta be the most irrelevant response I've ever received.
Well the thread is about the efforts to combat antisemitism in the United States of America and your good self keeps trying to talk about Israel and it’s enemies…I was attempting to stay on topic.
Sorry that I threw you a curve like that.

Trump is against antisemitism.

As is Biden, as was Obama, Bush, Clinton. That’s a standard feature of a US president now.

So if there is a disproportionate number of Jewish people in media, it just does not compute that they would vilify Trump, when Trump took such a hard stance against their principal foe, the Iranian regime.

Jewish Americans are heavily democratic and liberal. Computes just fine that they would not be thrilled with Trump.

Perhaps actual Jewish people have a different impression of the guy.

Elon Musk Shares Fake Voltaire Quote Actually From Neo-Nazi

“To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize,” the viral quote, shared by Musk, says.

The fake Voltaire quote is often shared by members of extremist groups on Twitter who argue Jewish people control the world, an anti-semitic conspiracy theory. The quote doesn’t come from Voltaire at all, and instead was uttered by neo-Nazi Kevin Alfred Strom

Twitter responded to questions Saturday morning with a poop emoji

He didn't "stand up against it". He undermined a treaty meant to AVOID it.... which is sort of like encouraging them to begin to redevelope nukes.

You don't have to agree with that interpretation of events, but I'd wager "a few" Jewish people probably feel that way.

"So whatever". That's the summation? You could afford to put a bit more thought than Trump at least.

They need to enrich uranium to power their plants. So yeah, they're going to keep enriching to power their plants.

Now with zero outside inspection of what’s taking place rather than the limited ones the previous agreement had. As ever the perfect becomes the enemy of the good.
