  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

In reference to the enemy, think it's interesting that in the Promised Land, there were giants. Some have researched their names and found that they mean things like pride and rebellion, fear, sexual sins, greed, etc.

Caleb looked at the enemy but knew it was Yahweh's will for them to have the land. "And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it." Num 13:30

We know that because of Yeshua we can definitely overcome our enemy.

I remember a man at work storming up to me and stamping his foot, saying,"So you are a Christian are you'. I replied,"Yes,I am and he swayed from foot to foot, raging. He motioned with his fist to the side of my head and I was terrified, but squared up to him. 'And what are you going to do now",he asked. I remembered the words of Jesus and offered him the other cheek and he called my bluff, stamped up and down menacingly, before turning away. Never was I more relieved!

Thanks for that account, ,

Sometimes you wonder; does the devil still inspire people against those whom have received Christ much like the day they were inspired to lift Him up on the cross? I’m pretty confident they are.

As a young man, long before my becoming a student of the scriptures, yet believing upon the Lord, held that common tone of love for the Lord, prayer and goodness. One day, I went to a crowded popular beach where another fella a few yrs older singled me out while minding my own business. Now he had many friends who accompanied him who were behind him and likely any actions he thought to take. That was about 50-yrs ago and don’t remember his insulting choice of words, but just when he was about as readied as was necessary, an able-bodied friend I knew but, didn’t know was there came running over out of the club-house to turn them all away. He had a reputation, but more importantly, so does God as I feel was in your case.

For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper (Psalm 91:3)

The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed, and will bring me safely to His heavenly kingdom; to Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen. (2 Timothy 4:18)

Reading about Job in my book, Spurgeon's Devotional Bible,
chapter 42
10 And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.
Spurgeon comments, 'When, in a forgiving spirit we pray for those who have behaved harshly to us some blessing is in store for us.'

How often we have proved this to be so!

Often catch myself thinking, just what are my enemies up to now? Yes, I have some real “winners”. I pray for them while they have their own mindset to divest all their strength to, they think they know the Christian but still can’t quite deal with it all. What a sad conclusion. Help me to be a light Lord.

Still, individuals attempting to downplay the effect of Christianity in your life use all sorts of coercive tactics, don’t they? These things are riddled with phrases to their credit; one such, “law of the jungle” could just fit the bill, though the actual battlefield is being waged between the law of the righteous and unrighteous mind.

To bad, God moved the goalpost long ago. They have their hands full and will exhaust themselves into futility having neither pearl to trample nor contention to return when we abide by God’s law,

“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.”

“, , against such there is no law.”
