Chag Shavuot Sameach! Have a joyous Feast of Weeks...Pentecost! On this day The Torah was given to the Jewish people at Mt Sinai and on this day the Ruakh HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) was given to The Church. It was one of the 3 mandatory Jewish Feasts...Passover, Shavuot and Sukkot (Booths). Large crowds from many different Nations would have been in Jerusalem. The Apostles and followers of Yeshua were in Jerusalem to celebrate Shavuot. Pentecost is actually the word used for Shavuot by Greek speaking Jews. As we do in the Orthodox Church at Pentecost, it was also customary to adorn the synagogue with flowers and greenery on Shavuot. Also, as 3000 died at Mt Sinai (Exodus 32:28), at Mt Zion 3000 (Acts 2:41) were brought into the Church at Pentecost.
