One of the things I've become acutely aware of since becoming Orthodox is a new found appreciation for feasts and fasting. Neither were ever a consideration in the tradition I was in prior.

We actually had dinner as a parish on the following day, Sunday.

I thought they would probably have fish anyway. It is the feast day for our parish. But no, we had a plain pasta, with shrimp and vegetables and bread and fruit and salad.
