I'm with you ... it's almost Christmas again!! (Where did the year go??)

Our weather here changed very quickly this year, from Fall to Winter.
Trouble is, my roof is leaking ... and I find myself needing it replaced now, before the weather turns bad.
And there isn't much time ...

Alot of coordination goes into this sort of project, with roofers, the insurance company, etc. So I'm starting off Advent kind of busy, but once insurance approves the job and the roofers get to nailing, I should have more time to sit back and reflect on this holy season. Least I'm hoping so!

I'm 'feeling' the Christmas spirit this year ... so much to be thankful for!
I did put wreaths on my two doors, a lighted candle in the window, and a teeny tree by the tv.
With workmen coming in and out of the house, I've not wanted to fill the house with decorations ...
but I think my busy part with them on this project will be finished this week.

On your job ... have they got it all decorated now? Christmas music playing?

I’m behind this year. But I’m in the process now of removing the Fall decorations and replacing it with Christmas decor now.

Do you put up a big tree, or a smaller one? (Live, or artificial?)

My house is large and high, but the rooms are designed kind of small ... so I usually put up a 4' footer (artificial).
This year, I'd really like to put up this big, old fashioned 6.5 footer we have ... we've only used it once ...
but as fast as the days seem to be going by, I don't think I'll have the time to do it.
Probably gonna keep things 'small' and simple this year ...

I use 3 big trees and other small ones of various sized. They are artificial but very realistic. I’m not big on live trees as they shed and I have animals in the house. I decorate with all vintage Christmas items besides the florals, etc.

I was out after dark last nite. I noticed many homes already decorated for Christmas. Was so nice to see ... I love driving by homes lit up for the holidays!

Some years lately there haven't been so many homes decorated, but this year there seems to be more than normal. I may be 'projecting' abit, but I tend to see more lights when the economy is good. (It does cost abit to do the outside decorating, and to run all that electric.) The economy is not so great yet, but if all the lights this year are any indication ... it looks to me like folks are expecting the economy to get better soon ... or ... like me, they are 'feeling' the Christmas spirit this year ... or ... maybe both!

I need those lights with shortened daylight hours. It’s just so much more magical and conducive for meditating on the reason for the season!

My job doesn’t have music playing ever. It is semi decorated though with most Christmas decor sold out.

As much as I like Christmas music, I've always felt abit sorry for employees who have to listen to it for many hours ... workday after workday ... for usually a month. Happy for you, that you're not in that position!
