I'd say that it ranged from pretty on-cue to really mediocre in places, although it's far from the worst that I've heard. Kon's voice would probably be the one really terrible element that I've seen - er, heard - sofar.I mourned it. Did you hear Kon at the end? They slaughtered him...

It's just said slower, which is to be expected when using English. The dub retained the Japanese 'ro' syllable rather than replacing it with the English 'ro', so I'm wondering just what it is that you mean by them 'butchering' it, since all the other syllables in 'Kurosaki' pose no problem for English speakers and were said correctly. Like I said, the only real difference is that it was said slower (and any honorifics were dropped, but that's normal and also expected in English).they butchered saying "Kurosaki" though.

What got to me was the fact that many of the original Japanese terms that have key importance - 'kidou', 'zanpakutou' and the like - were retained rather than translating them, but 'shinigami' was converted to 'Soul Reaper' for some inane reason. Either translate them all, or none of them.

The Japanese way of pronouncing it isn't 'Kulo' - it is a hybrid of r and l in Japanese, because there aren't distinct r or l sounds in that language (depending on context it gets assigned one of the two when transliterated, although I've noticed it almost always gets treated as an 'r'). It's a somewhat-trilled noise that sounds like both r and l at the same time. During the recap section that occurs before the opening in the episode 60 range (I gave that as an example because I've got a couple of those eps laying on my hard drive at the moment), you can hear it if you pay close attention when the name is said.It sounded to me as if he was trying to pronounce it the japanese way by saying "Kulosaki" but ended up an odd combination of what sounded like "Kurlosaki"
Rukia said it when giving the instructions on transferring her power into Ichigo, and again in the following thought process about not having seen one that large.Haven't heard them say zanpakutou yet, but I'm most certainly looking forward to it![]()
