• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Can you blaspheme the Holy Spirit in a dream/hallucination. I saw a yellow cross when I was praying to Jesus and it happened so fast to my brain it showed up in the shower on October 4 and it followed me to the door and I didnt know it was Satan did I blaspheme the Holy Spirit. Is getting an unwanted dream blasphemy.

I am so worried that I will be off to Israel to oppose Jesus as Antichrist or False Prophet I am worried about my satanic hallucination Mom and Dad say it is not real that it is a story in my mind there is no Beast.

But I am worried I turned into the beast from the yellow cross in the shower am I fine is it my mind playing scitzphrenic tricks could Satan really steal salvation from a believer in a dream.

I had a dream of Satan and I stopped at the chair I worry I missed the Holy Spirit conviction because I did momentarily control it. Mom says I cant go to the Hospital with Corona which I worry I caused the end of the world.

I can distract myself but I cant fully take my mind off the blue satan light concerned he is in my brain and heart is that possible.

Am I worried about nothing can I relax and play my videogames. I dont want to be supernatural or oppose Jesus. I am so confused

Hi sportsfan. I pray you will be able to find peace soon.

I have struggled with OCD and still struggle with it but have found a lot of freedom when it comes to this topic. I have spent a lot of time worrying about "accidentally" blaspheming the Holy Spirit.

That is not what Jesus is talking about in the passage. It isn't something accidentally done. You have to interpret scripture in light of other scriptures. And there are other Scriptures that clearly say all sins can be forgiven as long as a person is in Christ. From this and from the context of the blasphemy passage, we can confidently conclude the only unforgivable sin is rejecting the Holy Spirit's truth that God sent Jesus to save his people.

  1. (Acts 13:39) - "and through Him everyone who believes is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses."
  2. (Titus 2:13-14) - "looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus; 14who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds."
  3. (1 John 1:9) - "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
  4. (Romans 8:1) "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus"
  5. (1 John 1:7) "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin."
  6. (Micah 7:19) "You will again have compassion on us;you will tread our sins underfoot
and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea."

The three most important rules of interpreting Scripture are 1. context, 2. context and 3. context.

The context of the blasphemy passage is that the Pharisees were rejecting the Holy Sprit's truth. It is not speaking words that is horrible. You can tell that from the context. Jesus explains it in that passage. The thing that is horrible is that the Pharisees are lying about the Holy Spirit's testimony and thus rejecting the Holy Spirit's truth. A Christian has done the exact opposite.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to lose your salvation, so the blasphemy passage cannot apply to Christians.

(Hebrews 13:5)
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."

So I am just scitzphrenic and that is why I hallucinate Satan and think I have the mark. Thanks for the encourgament so blasphemy isnt a dream with a yellow cross in the shower bowing to Satan is that humanly possible to bow to Satan in a dream.

No, that dream is not what the passage is talking about, not even close!!! :D

You do not have the mark. You did not commit the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, as that can only be committed by someone who does not believe in Jesus as their savior.

Stand on the truth of Jesus's salvation for you, not on your fears/emotions/obsessive thoughts. :) I used to deal with a lot of thoughts that would scare me and the scary emotion would become so overwhelming I couldn't think straight. I would feel this horrible fear in my chest, but I little by little began to learn how to separate out the scary feelings and rest on reality-- on God's truth.

And yes, I am sure it is the schizophrenia that does that to you; it makes you think these things, but the truth is stronger. God's promises are stronger than your doubts. He promises salvation to all who believe.

So Satan cant steal me away from Jesus in reality.

Stuff similar to this has shown up in my dreams too. I just always know that I am not me when I am dreaming. I am unconscious, so how can I purposely think these things. They even happen as I wake up. that's when I realize I was asleep. It's hard. Keep your eyes on Jesus.
