  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Black Friday.....

Thanks for reminding me.. next time I stroll in there, I am going to wear my hoodie with the Isaiah verse on the back of it. Just to let these progressives know that they don't have the monopoly on Wholefoods.
get a shirt or jacket w/ 1 Cor 6:9-11 on it.

No kidding, that's probably why liberalism's a mental disorder.. too much soy and avoidance of animal protein, but nevermind their chainsmoking habit, consuming sprouts they think probably nullifies it, lol. I guess that's why they can support keeping a brutal murderer from the death penalty, but slaughter babies as conveniently as they want.

Well if cigarettes weren't so bad for you that'd be the best diet advice I could give someone. Back when I was smoking, I didn't have a desire to eat a whole lot. Cigarettes and coffee. The diet of champions. That's one reason so many women smoke, it keeps the weight off. It's better than Slim-Fast.

If a certain someone hadn't quit, we'd not be getting married. Kissing someone who smokes is just nasty.

I know that's why you either hafta hook up w/ a smoker or quit smoking or have them quit for you.
2 ashtrays don't care :p

I'm glad he's been able to quit - it's really tuff going.
But honestly, it's so much better for his health this way.
& for the ladies... smoking ages your skin - anyone with vanity issues
needs to quit or suffer the early consequences

Lucky girl! My hubby still smokes. Blech.

Then there's the drain on the pocket book (especially up here, there's a very high tax on them), and oh ya that whole looming threat of cancer thing. Ya I have a serious hatred of smokes. When my dad was dieing of cancer my mother taught my little nephew to call them "cancer sticks". I think that was a very good idea! And it is pretty funny when he sees DH smoking and says "that's a cancer stick". Ahhh, four year olds are precious. ^_^

He quit before I met him and had I known he had been a smoker before we met in person, I might not have gone for the meeting. There were enough other things about him that scared me that it would have been a convenient excuse. :p
For some reason, God kept working on me about taking the time to dig a bit deeper and I'm glad I listened to Him. Funny how much smarter He is about these things.

He still smokes cigars, Des, which isn't too bad as long as it's not a daily thing. When he does that and we're out, I fire up a clove ciggy, which was my indulgent vice in college, but one of those will do ya for about 3 months. I'm actually getting him some cigars as a wedding treat to help him feel more macho, which I hope to benefit from on our wedding night. :holy:

I know, who can afford them? I heard that they're even more xpensive in the UK than the USA.
It's unbelievable how they can hike the price up so much.

I hope he can quit one day, for both of your sakes

Thank you. I hope so, too. He really does want to quit, but just hasn't got the will power right now. As soon as anything stressful comes along he caves.

I wouldn't mind if he just had an occasional cigar instead. But I don't know if that would even be possible for him. Those things are so potent.

I used to be one of those recreational smokers who only smoked at the Clubs, lol back when I went to Clubs. Thank God I never developed a nicotine addiction.

I used to be like that most of my bar hopping days - I could turn it on & off whenever....
but I got into a habit of playing computer games at night & really enjoyed a cigarette while I played & it turned into a habit.
I never did inhale the smoke (*I know, waits for the jokes), but it still gave me the effect & taste I liked -
& you just GOTTA love the habit of having your hand occupied lol

But I quit after a year - didn't smoke for about 5-6 yrs, then had my life fall apart all around me & took it back up out of sheer stress.
I smoked about 1 year again & was able to quit with my surefire method.

=)~

ya - you know you're addicted when you're counting your cigarettes & timing the day around them as to when you'll be getting to the store
for another pack or 2.......

:| I don't miss those days one bit
