On the night after I accepted Jesus into my heart, I woke in the middle of the night, but I was not truly awake. I was still asleep. Next to me, on my right side, I saw a dark, shadow figure standing next to me. The figure did not move, just stood there. Then I tried to wake myself up because I knew then that I was still asleep. This was not the first time I've seen this dark figure, I've seen it a few times before. What could it be? Maybe someone or something doesn't like the fact that I'm reaching for God again.

Doesn't matter, sounds like the dark spirits testing you, trying to get you to fear them instead of God.

Fear God only.

Put it out of your mind and move on.

Yes, I need to learn to fear God only, and nothing else. I need to learn it.

That probably your brain playing tricks on you. There some areas of the brain responsbile for those accurences

It doesn't matter, but as Christians we believe God who wrote through Scriptures that we should listen to God and fear God, and God alone.

People can turn to "science" for solutions, but when doing so they need to make care they are not forgetting God and chasing after modern day divination.

God does not put people "on ignore", they put themselves "on ignore" when they say, "I know, I know".

No one learns anything when they have that attitude -- even worldly scholars of the Greeks understood that. How is it Christians forget this?

Hello,

Fear Not, Do not Fear the Father.

The Spirit who stands near you is real, Please examine what you said in your text
reaching out for God again,
and accepting Jesus into your heart.
I do not know you personally, but that night did you invite a spirit into your mind
and have you done it before?
The Act of Jesus draws you to the Father, It does not cause you to Fear Him.
I am a Christian, I do not Fear God, I Go to God.
Next time you see the spirit ask it's name and business.
If you are Afraid and Fear God, you will not enter into the Temple.
My Spirit runs at light Speed to the Father.
Fear Not.

Matthew 10:27-29 (New International Version)

27What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. 28Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. 29Are not two sparrows sold for a penny[a]? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father.

If you follow Jesus you believe Him and do what He says.

Ecclesiastes 12:13
Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.

Exodus 18:21
But select capable men from all the people—men who fear God, trustworthy men who hate dishonest gain—and appoint them as officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens.

Job 28:28
And he said to man, 'The fear of the Lord—that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.' "

Psalm 111:10
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.

  1. Proverbs 1:7
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.
Proverbs 1:6-8 (in Context) Proverbs 1 (Whole Chapter)
  2. Proverbs 9:10
"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Proverbs 9:9-11 (in Context) Proverbs 9 (Whole Chapter)
  3. Proverbs 15:33
The fear of the LORD teaches a man wisdom, and humility comes before honor.
Proverbs 15:32-33 (in Context) Proverbs 15 (Whole Chapter)
  4. Isaiah 11:2
The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD -
Isaiah 11:1-3 (in Context) Isaiah 11 (Whole Chapter)
  5. Isaiah 33:6
He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the LORD is the key to this treasure.
Isaiah 33:5-7 (in Context) Isaiah 33 (Whole Chapter)
  6. Micah 6:9
[ Israel's Guilt and Punishment ] Listen! The LORD is calling to the city— and to fear your name is wisdom— "Heed the rod and the One who appointed it.
Micah 6:8-10 (in Context) Micah 6 (Whole Chapter)

Isaiah 11:2
The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD

That verse should be especially well known to anyone who has the Spirit of God and is born again.

1 John 2

"
26I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray. 27As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him."

Fear is quoted from the Old Testament, As a son of the Father, I do not fear my Father,
Jesus said it is Finished, Fear is Finished. If we are going to keep Fear, Than we keep
the Sabbath. Instead of the new worship during the day of the Sun, Sun-day. If you are a Child of God, a child does not fear the Father. Why would I have fear, if I hold on to the Rock of Ages?

Why would we?

We do not do what is wrong so nobody can make us fear for sins that we do not do.

But we do not do wrong because we know that God is the One to fear, through Jesus. However, why do we not fear? If we do wrong, should we not fear? Or does God change?

No, God does not change.

Therefore these "gods" you speak of are but delusions, mental images, nonsense.

There is no God but God, hear O Israel.

Does that change, or should we teach people to transgress the Law? No, we do not transgress the Law which is for lawbreakers, because we are of the righteous: sanctified by the Spirit of God, crucified with Him, and risen up with Him.

I am a child of God who operates by the Holy Spirit.

It is by the Holy Spirit I advise and by the Holy Spirit I write.

Where then are my accusers.

The Act of Jesus is nonsense, it's a small god's will.
We Fear God through Jesus??
The Holy Spirit Tells us to Fear the Father??
Sounds like the spirit of works.
Like I said, go to Mark 15:38, Stand at the Temple, Ask the Holy Spirit if you can enter.
Ask if you can go and follow Jesus into the Temple and be with the Father.
If the Spirit says no, ask why?
Sorry to get off track,
Again always ask the shadow spirits their names and business.

The act of Jesus is not "nonsense", I take it you are being rhetorical there.

Anyway, we are also approved, there is no reason to boast of being more approved then another.

Would you say otherwise?

Resist the devil, and he will flee. Jas 4:7 Complicating it will bring fear into a situation that Jesus has given you authority over.

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

i just wondered, how did it make you feel seeing this dark shadow?

its just because the first thing that came to my mind was

ps 121:5

the Lord is the shade/shadow at thy right hand.

it depends how you felt seeing it. you will know in your spirit if it was an edifying thing or not.

Why should you FEAR God? God is good is he not? Why is it said, "he's a god fearing man"? Why should one have to fear something that is supposed to be so holy and divine with love and forgiveness?

Being asleep and dreaming of dark shadows is just that, nothing more or less. The human brain is a fantastic tool but it does get it wrong sometimes.

.

I sort of ask myself the same question. Let's see what we can come up with. The Bible DOES say that fear of the Lord is a good thing. Perhaps "the fear of the Lord" simply means to be afraid to disobey. Maybe "the fear of the Lord" means to realize how great and powerful He is. There is also a verse which says: "perfect love casts out fear". and He "gave us a Spirit of sonship, crying Abba Father in us". So because I love God and I know that He loves me too, I am not quite sure why I should be "afraid".

Perhaps it has something to do with this: one person is coming up to the viper's nest and is not afraid. Why? Because he is foolish/ignorant. Why? because he doesn't realize that the snake will bite him.
The other person is coming up to the nest with taking precoutions. Why? Because he has understanding, he is wise. He knows the danger when he sees it and acts accordingly.

so perhaps "fear of the Lord" is - to know His great power and the consequences of disobedience. Because whoever is living in sin, is disobeying God. And we know that the wages for sin is death. Maybe fear of the Lord equal obedience to the Lord. So godfearing man is the one who obeys the Lord. Like if you have a Father who loves you but who is strict, you would say: I am afraid of my Father. But what are you really saying? I am afraid of disobeying my father becasue He will punish me. The person who has knowledge and undestanding of that fact will say it. But the person who is ignorant of the consequences will say: I am not afraid of him. And then when he disobeys, and the Father punishes him, he learns to be afraid of him. (But it doesn't mean that the person doesn't love him or that the father doesn't love the person)

MAT 10:28 Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

PRO 9:10 "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

PRO 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge,

ISA 33:6 He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the LORD is the key to this treasure.

ISA 11:2 The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him - the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD -

MIC 6:9 Listen! The LORD is calling to the city - and to fear your name is wisdom -

PRO 15:33 The fear of the LORD teaches a man wisdom, and humility comes before honor.
