Beginning in June of 2011, all new cars manufactured and sold in the United States will be required to have a mandated black box device installed, which can be used to monitor several different physical and technical data points.

Haven't they already declared you have no reasonable expectation of privacy on public roads when talking about putting a tracking device on cars without a warrant?

Not that I don't agree with you it's unconstitutional, but between the power-hungry government and the "people only want privacy if they have something to hide" people it's a very uphill battle against Big Brother.

The bigger story here is that once again, the Obama Administration is legislating something that would never pass through Congress via an administrative regulation.

Is that why Congress does so many "closed door" legislative sessions? They don't want us to know what they're doing?

This looks to be something that is being considered, but has yet to actually be proposed as a law.
