There was something I always wondered about after I became a christian.
If babies are a blessing, how come God blesses unmarried women when they fornicate? I'm not being snarky, I just always wondered.
biology dear ;).
God created our bodies the way that they are-just b/c we abuse the standards that God has set into place does not change that.
reaping and sowing as well...

For those who say God told you to use birth control, I have to ask; Didn't you find it insulting that the creator of the universe specifically asked you to not reproduce offspring? And also, does God always ask you to do things that you already want to do anyhow?
God gives us a brain,
a mind,
wisdom.
Wisdom to know when such a thing is a bad idea, and a wiser one.
insulting that we are one day going to have a beautiful family?

and the last question is insulting and insinuating that we do not truly know God's will.
*ERROR*
that is not for you to say in anyone's case BUT YOUR OWN.
PERIOD.

I can't memorize verses well but I think there is one where a wife calls upon God because she is barren, in fact, more than one instance.
Or was that just for biblical times?
yes, on more than one occassion.
Rachel
Sarah
but i think that that one that you are probably thinking of is Hannah :)
God gave all of these women children
it was seen as a disgrace in their culture, in fact, it was assumed many times that that woman was in sin and that was why she was barren.

I practice birth control all the time. I'm a virgin practicing abstinance (the most radical form of birth control, I guess).

And some would conclude that my practice prevents God from creating children and thus His will is being refused by my practice.

But there you are.

How do you get the idea that God opens and closes the womb? That would mean that he interferes with whether the woman gets pregnant or not. From what I understand of God he doesn't interfere like that.

Any pregnancy is a result of physical conditions, and not because of God.
for the LORD had closed up every womb in Abimelech's household because of Abraham's wife Sarah. Gen 20:18
When the LORD saw that Leah was not loved, he opened her womb, but Rachel was barren. Gen 29:31
Then God remembered Rachel; he listened to her and opened her womb. Gen 30:22
But to Hannah he gave a double portion because he loved her, and the LORD had closed her womb. 1 Sam 1:5
And because the LORD had closed her womb, her rival kept provoking her in order to irritate her. 1 Sam 1:6

I believe that it truly IS up to God.
He is Soverign.
and , even those who use BC (for seasons even) are not stronger than He is.

Abstience is required of unmarried people. No argument there.

I'm not sure that he is involved every time, as you said, biology.
