or i could've titled this "When it's just downright evil to smile."
Getting the picture yet, or must i post one to drive the point home?
Seriously, Christians were never meant to live in boxes, to live by "habit" and have a daggone smile on their face when in doing so it would cause more pain , cause more misery, or burden someone already "burdened" with even more heaviness to bear.
Now why would i post this verse right about now?
This one here ----->"As he that taketh away a garment in cold weather, and as vinegar upon nitre, so is he that singeth songs to an heavy heart." ~Proverbs 25:20
As it is written, there is a time and a purpose for everything.
"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:" ~Ecclesiastes 3:1
James writes that even "blessing" (or mouth-ing "God bless you" ) emptily can be downright hurtful and add to someone's misery:
"If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?" ~James 2:15-16
God looks on the heart. A heart not genuine need not wear a plastered on smile. The truth is, it makes God vomit, and ev'ryone else too, and causes even more tears to the already suffering. And well let's face it, a "smile" not coming from the inside out can be downright scary.
