...amidst never-ending tears and pain that cannot be explained in words....and no one, NO ONE understands, and are oblivious to your angst that is beyond comprehension, and they won't even PRAY for you, only adding to the affliction that is beyond description?

It seems He "hems" us about at times, rendering our sufferings "invisible", and us, in our sufferings, in that fiery furnace of affliction. I heard part of a sermon by Paul Washer once. He said something to the effect that God crushes, breaks into smithereens, those He uses. Only by His inexplicable grace can we not defy Him during those fiery times that try the very recesses of our hearts, minds, and souls. By His grace only are we strengthened and sustained in that fiery furnace of affliction.

I prayed this: for God to CONSUME me. And i meant it with every utterance, every cell of my being, heart, mind, and soul. And He did. And He is. He is consuming me in the furnace of affliction.

Yesterday i was asked "how are you?" So i responded. I spoke of the furnace of affliction, and what i'm learning through it. His response floored me. He said a loving God would never do that. I had included some Bible verses, of which he did not respond to. Perhaps it cut like a knife because he claims to be a "brother in Christ". Because if he were, he would understand that God indeed DOES allow "furnaces of affliction" to those called by His name. It is written. It is happening, not just to me, but to so many around the world. He would understand because he would've experienced fiery trials himself and knew immediately that prayer is needed and began praying and indicated to me that he was. Instead, he re-defines who God is. And i realized that it would've been better to say "i'm fine, and you?" And left it benignly at that. It's a "code" that we're all familiar with and is meant to not wake the sleeping. Some prefer it that way.

When we say we love God. Do we mean it?

The God Who purposely sent His only begotten Son to be born, and then to absorb our sins, dying a disgraceful, criminal's death -Was He, this God, within His rights to do so? Didn't His holy-ness require it? Was it a hateful thing He has done? Is this the God who some would deny, saying God would never do such a thing because God is a God of love? God HAD to do such a thing. It is because of this:

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." ~John 3:16

Are we to think that God took lightly the sacrifice of His only begotten Son? God did what He MUST. Why? Because He LOVES us. Love involves SACRIFICE. Sin is such an abomination, that God was COMPELLED to absorb it onto Himself, through His Son. Who ELSE could have SAVED us. It required a PERFECT Sacrifice. He did what NONE else could do.

Love is not a syrup-y marshmallow-y feel-goody thing. REAL love is where the rubber meets the road. There is a book out called "Dirty God", written by Johnnie Moore.

It's about God, getting into the ditches WITH us. Meeting us where we're at dirt n' all, abominations n' all. Love is the brass tacks of reality. God is as real as the sin that so besets us. He is as "real" as what we are facing and meets us right smack in the middle of it. Who ELSE would DARE do such a thing. Only the God Who DARES sacrifice His only begotten Son. THAT'S Who. Know why?

Cuz God is not a benign marshmallow of sentimentality. He's fer real. Go to Him like He is. There is NO other way to approach Him, is there?

i've only recently been unctioned (prompted) to pray for celebrities, except on certain occasions. For the most part i was filled up to adnauseum and beyond with the "stars" and all the tv shows and fanfare of them. My only word for them and all of it was "Ugh!"

But recently, because of billie in the prayer forum and his thread on praying for celebrities and naming them one by one, gave me pause. Simultaneously i was feeling compassion for the celebrities most beaten up on and ridiculed and being used for fodder for the many "gossip" shows....such as Britney Spears, Mel Gibson, Lindsey Lohan, Charlie Sheen, etc.

I mean, in thinking about it, WHO ELSE do they have but God. Who ELSE can intervene as only He can? Who ELSE NEEDS more compassion than someone who is shipwrecked, for all to see, over and over and over again?

As Jesus Himself said:

"So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her." !John 8:7

Who is without fault, i mean TONS of issues, seen visibly and oh so public, or not so public? NONE. Not one. That's who.

God help us to see us ALL as He does. And that is "desperate" for Him. Each and every one of us.
