better is one day

Hi there, reading your story definitely allowed me to draw some parallels to my life. I'm not physically disabled but I've battled symptoms of Bi Polar, Schizoaffective, severe anxiety, Panic attacks / OCD over the years.
Mental illness truly is a perplexing ailment and I understand the struggle is real, and also very discouraging when your voice does not feel heard, you feel misunderstood, overmedicated etc...
As a fellow believer , I guess a few things I should share with you here for encouragement that have helped me are.
#1- Prayer/ Deliverance- Now this seems to be a grey area for a lot of Christians because for every powerful testimony of God's healing power we sadly hear of stories of those with Cancer etc.. who've been prayed over but were not delivered of their illness and succumbed to it. We cannot understand God's will fully with our limited minds and carnal sin nature while here on earth. That being said we do know Jesus has the power to heal any disease, ailment, cast out any demon for the Glory of God and the restoration of his child. In the book of Acts we see radical deliverance, we see a church so filled with the Holy Spirit that nothing could thwart the revival that was taking place.
Sadly we do not see much of that taking place in the churches anymore today. But that does not mean you can't be delivered from the oppressive thoughts. I may not have many agree with me with this assertion. But it's my personal belief that a lot of mental illness is actually demonic oppression.
When I first came to Christ I experienced great peace for months, but almost immediately that period I started getting bizarre, intrusive thoughts, delusions, non rational paranoia , fear etc..
We will battle with unwanted thoughts until the day we die and go be with the Lord, and for reasons known to God some of us may have to suffer worse. But that does not mean that we are not equipped with the weapons to do warfare and wear the full amour of God Ephesians 6 ( 10:18) while he sanctifies us daily and renews our minds to be more and more like our Savior's ( Romans 12:2 - Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.")
Notice the key here? It's a call to not be conformed to the world, and this in returns will renew our minds to focus on The Lord's will and what is above..
Please don't think Im assuming with this statement , I'm only saying this as it can help if you're battling it.
If you have unconfessed sin, if you have obsessions with worldy television shows, ungodly music, and occult objects in your home, any generational curses that have come upon you as a result of your ancestors sins, an overload of drugs, alcohol , junk food etc.. Some of these things seem harmless to the unsuspecting believer but they can and will open doors to demonic influence in our lives and as we know the enemy loves to attack the mind primarily.
From my own personal experience with praying, fasting and going through confession and asking the Lord for deliverance through the shed blood of Christ on the cross I can personally attest to the fact that I've experienced much more peace of mind then I've had in the past. The underlying mood issues, anxiety will still be there but they don't have the same sting because my eyes are set on Christ and I'm trusting in his promises and his deliverance.
I highly recommend you check out a man named Derek Prince who was a Pastor from the UK who spoke extensively on the subject of deliverance and attests to personally witnessing many miracles God bestowed on his children through this deliverance. You can you tube him.
#2- Diet- There is strong data out there to support the belief that poor diet often goes hand in hand with mood and well being as a whole. I wouldn't claim a good diet could cure Bipolar, the delusions, paranoia etc.. but it certainly can greatly help with the symptoms. Diets high in Sugar, high refined carbohydrates, dairy, fat ( not the good kind, the bad kind ) etc.. and even Gluten for some people are known triggers to trigger manic episodes.
Have you ever been tested for Candida, Parasites or Celiac disease? all these conditions can mimic mental illness and exacerbate symptoms
I will keep you in my prayers "The Walker".May the Lord bless you, and know you're not alone ( even if it feels that way at times) the Lord is with you always.
You can get better. And that's what we are here for to help build one another up in the body of Christ. I will pray for the right people to intervene in your life as well!
