Downloading the pc demo now, (I think its still not out to Fileplanet for a couple of hours) Yarr ;)

It looks and from the videos feels strikingly fresh, the choices it gives you in the combat environments are more than I've ever seen in a game, hopefully It'll last me until a Crysis Beta or Demo is released

I'm about 12 hours into this game, and I'm amazed at just how polished a product this is. The production values are off the scale. Excellent level design, myriad of ways to progress and get ahead (ie a varied experience each time and different ways to solve problems), fantastic voice overs, great mood and atmoshpere, amazing character and plot development, etc. I could go on and on. Rest assured, this game is simply superior to anything I've played this generation. If you are on the fence about getting this one, go for it. You won't regret it.

I just picked it up today, and I must say, I'm definitely happy with this game. It is such an unbelievable advancement in next-gen gaming.

Its good everyone here liked the game, I'm very on the fence about buying it right now, the demo was strange, and I couldn't figure out whether it was in a good or bad way, I might buy it anyways now, since not a single person in reviews, magazines or here online said anything negative, thats pretty damn good for a game

Anyways, has anyone noticed an increase in performance from the pc demo to the real game? I found the fps lacking compared to what it should have been on my system

Wow. I'm not a big FPS fan (I played Doom 2 and Wolfenstein back in the day, but none since). I love this game. It's creepy and gorgeous and atmospheric; I love the music and the sounds, the chatter of the NPCs. I like that there's some aspect of character customization, and that there are some puzzles. It appeals to the part of me that loves Oblivion and Myst, and is giving me an adrenaline rush. I seem to be taking a sneaky approach to the game, and so far the pistol's my favorite weapon, though again, the part of me that played oblivion enjoys using the wrench in some hand to hand combat. The controls have been easy to learn (again, haven't played a FPS for about 10 years :p), just porting over skills from World of Warcraft and GTA. The treatment of objectivism is also cute. ;) Just beat the first boss tonight (the stores in my area were sold out sporadically, and I was just able to pick it up today, as I didn't pre-order it).

FlaymSior, thanks so much for your review. I was really considering getting the game untill i read your review and the review of a friend.

Thanks for saving me some bucks and keeping me from being subjected to this game. Jonathan brought up a couple of points that you didnt in your review and vice versa.

I played this demo, but my dad is too easily creeped out by these games. I like it personally (who hasn't wanted to Incinerate someone by snapping his fingers?!?) but my dad makes the purchasing decisions. What's funny is he tried the FEAR demo after this, and I knew he would quit within a couple minutes. If he thought BioShock was creepy, then it makes sense FEAR would do the same.
He quit after the first viewing of the little girl. He was shooting but hitting nothing every five seconds. Paranoid.... :p

Looks amazing and seems to bring something different to a very tired genre.

Anyone seen it?

Very tired? The FPS/RPG hybrid genre consists of, counting Bioshock, five games. I would hardly call that tired.

Little girls are scary. If you're over 17 you can legally buy it. Very fun game so far (no idea how far through it I am; I'm a completionist with games, and am avoiding spoilers. I think I have all the weapons, though, so I'm probably more than 50%).
