like other post said its a spiritual successer to system shock 2 and the game is a cross between fps and rpg i mean you get item and such. and its also horror like the music and atmosphere.

Yea. I'm pretty excited about Bioshock. I think I might wait a little while after it's release to get it (because I'm planning on getting Madden 08 tomorrow), but I will get it sooner or later. I'm actually downloading the demo on Live at the moment.

Definitely getting this one the day it comes out. I've actually been interested in this one for some time, and the demo only makes the next week of waiting for the games release pure agony.

2) It doesn't feature any outdoor earthly looking backdrop
3) It has recreated a very unique and original era.
4) It's a world underwater
5) It provides gamers with choices (unlike Halo clones)
6) It features unique weaponary
7) It genuingly looks amazing (but then so does CallDuty4)

It's all about taste and preference. You very well may not like it but that doesn't make it bad. Like the fact that many others don't like Halo doesn't make it bad.

setting isnt creativity. Even the worst game ever could be set underwater, it was too (aquaman for gamecube) Also, only using indoor settings has been done before.
Also, an era cant really be original since it already happened. True they tried to capture the spirit of the era, but the events never actually happened as in you cant inject yourself to turn your arm into a bee hive. Its not a recreation of the era, but rather they used the era for insperation and then developed their own ideas. (its not history)
As for the whole RpgFps thing, that has existed for a while, not in as good a form, limits of the hardware, but open ended game play isnt new.
The plasmids are differnt but then again they are just weaponry that you inject into yourself. Some of the interactions with the enviroment could be considered revolutionary like the lighning one electrifies water to kill enimies standting in it.
Some of the techniques used to create the visual effects add somthing to the whole experiance and are nice additions but the game uses the unreal 3 engine. So the game effects themselves arnt revolutionary, rather the engine (which isnt revolutionary either). Soft particles and such arnt new but they havnt been used because of hardware.

They do vary. I personally hate tactical shooters like Rainbow Six but there are many who love them and I can see how they are good games, just not for me. I'd rather run around with a plasma rifle shooting at mutated aliens or demons or take a sword and go crawling through some dungeon.
