If Bigfoot were real we would have found the remains of a dead Bigfoot by now. Afterall, we find the skeletons of humans from pre-Columbian native populations, so why not Bigfoot?

I have seen Bigfoot myself. He has been missing from my areas for years, but there are very strong rumors that he is about to return. I have seen him personally and know AVET's video to be bunk. The makers of it eventually admitted it themselves. But don't worry, here is a short video where you can see Sasquatch in his natural habitat if you pay close attention:
Bigfoot was put there by the Ancient Aliens.
What's an ancient alien?
Look up Ancient Astronauts on youtube. Basically, they are aliens that supposedly genetically altered monkey DNA to produce humans, or something like that.
Remains of animals that die in the wild are very seldom found. I hike a lot in the Sierra Nevadas, and I've never seen the remains of a mountain lion, coyote, deer, or black bear; all of which I see on a regular basis.
Having said that, I'm a bit skeptical that we haven't found at least partial remains.
AFAIK, Patterson/Gimlin never admitted this was a fakery. Even modern Hollywood costume designers say that technology didn't exist, and still doesn't exist to make such an authentic looking costume.

One does not need remains, scat or hair would do. remember the world has changed since 1900 and now just a single hair would be enough to establish the existance of a unknown species.
Also the claims re bigfoot are far different from claims of a rogue human or the last of some Indian tribe. Bigfoot is claimed to be an ongoing species, that means a breeding population. Males, women and children. In America, even in the 'wide open west' there is no way such a population could exist for decades without leaving a trace that can be identified by modern means.
You are right. I just read the Wiki article about the film and it is rather interesting. The camera that shot the film works at several speeds. It seems that it was not filmed at the standard rate. There have been two individuals who claim to have been involved but there stories do not match up, one that claimed to have made the suit and the other who claimed to have worn it. At least one of them seems to have been not telling the truth.

I still like my Bigfoot videos better. Here is another one of him at his part time job:
