Bible reading/study group seeking more members for 2023

Greetings all.

Six of us are poised to start a 2023 yearly Bible reading and study, reading 4 chapters a day (with some spare days each month should you miss a day here or there) and sharing ideas, questions and observations as we go. Everything's setup and ready to go, technologically speaking, so we're just putting out the call for any additional folks that would like to join us .

Truth be told the way that we're conducting this would suit other study groups too, or maybe those who are more interested in studying specific books or even just chime in when scriptural comments or questions arise, so all are welcome!

Our aim is to complete the entire Bible in 2023, following a slightly modified book order. We don't plan on conducting live meetings but rather will be sharing comments, questions and understandings as we go for everyone to have a chance to participate in. If all you want is to have a group of people to share your reading journey but not make any comments yourself that's perfectly fine... but like all things the more you put in the more you will receive

Discussing the entire Bible in one year is less than inviting for me. It is my opinion that covering so much territory in a year is fruitless and a waste of time. If you had said, "discussing a book of the bible every three months, I would have been aboard. The word of God cannot be studied in one year. At best it would be very superficial.

Many people conduct yearly Bible reading plans.
Ours is no different except that we additionally have the ability to share comments, ideas and questions.

I'm one of the people in the study group. For me, what I'm looking forward to is reading the entirety of a book of the Bible in the space of a few days, to get the overall sweep of what the author is saying with the book as a whole. What is the overall argument that Paul makes in the letter to the Romans? What are the themes and images that John uses when he tells the story of Jesus? That kind of thing. Personally, I'm forgetful enough that if I space out the reading too much, I forget the beginning by the time I get to the end.

But, whatever floats your boat. Slow, detailed study is valuable too.
