Any suggestions for an english bible containing the Tanakh and the new testament, that is accuratley translated from the original hebrew texts? I'm a christian, but I strongly agree with the messianics and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction to one. What do messianics use? Thanks

I have been using CJB(Complete Jewish Bible) and used to use KJV all the time until I see that YHWH's name is replaced throughout HIS OWN WORD  And I'll tell you and everyone else that even the MJ arena per se are even leaving out YHWH's name in many places that I think should be said and worshiped.

In all my studies I haven't found O...N...E... ONE bible that has accurately transliterated names into English. For instance, Our Creators NAME that is ABOVE ALL NAMES: YHWH or YHVH depending on who you are talking with :)
Now to replace HIS Name some 2800+ times within mostly the Tanakh and something like 100 times in the B'rit Khadashah with God and LORD. Let say you take someones book and change their name to suit you. What would they think of that? They wouldn't like it at all. The same with our Father in Heaven, YHWH blessed is HIS NAME. And that then brings us to the point of Yahshua HaMashiach. As you can see (YAH)WEH and (YAH)SHUA have the Creators Name within. Yahshua means YHWH Saves or Salvation. And Yahshua is the one who came with a Message from YHWH, for YHWH has APPOINTED Yahshua Master, King of Kings, Name above all names(except HIS own of course YHWH). Tell me how important YHWH's and Yahshua's Names are and you will find that In Yahshua's Name we have Eternal Life with YHWH.

That is just the beginning. Further is much discussion.
Shalom,

Here is the link to a few discussions in the Messianic Judaism forum on Scripture discussions:

Complete Jewish Bible Started by Messianic Warrior

Bible Translations Started by Bulldog

Accuracy of the Bible Started by LotusPetal_uk

Aramaic Gospels Started by YatzivPatgam

Orthodox Jewish Bible Third Edition Started by Jill

I will update a couple more times if I find more threads.
And Zemirah I am alive and still don't know where I am moving by the end of March or rather in the month after Adar 5764 ;) And my truck is still broke down, but hopefully the person that is going to finish it will be here in the next few days. I am still unemployed.

Shalom,

Shamash Of Yeshua,

I do believe I might have what you are looking for. It's a Bible by The Institute for Scripture Research called The Scriptures. YHWH is in Hebrew characters thoughout. "Jesus" is back to Yeshua as well as the other names of the Bible back to their original pronounciations. (Ex: Matthew=Mattithyahu, Moses=Mosheh, etc. You'll have to visit the web page to see what I mean if you don't understand.)

I would leave the website's link, but since I don't have enough posts yet, all I can say is to type in The Institute for Scripture Research in a search engine to find the page. Then, look for The Scriptures.

Only thing I have so far to answer you question is that The Scriptures restores the original order of the Hebrew Scriptures (Torah, Prophets, Writings). Something I forgot to say in my previous post is that it also changes the word Law into Torah, where appropriate. I don't know if that matters at all....

Right now I am downloading some of their sample text to see if the translators at the ISR did just change the names in the KJV, like the Sacred Name Version does.... I have about an hour to go, since I'm on a dial-up modem...
