I feel like engineers are notorious for this - easily the field of science and its applications that has the most creationists.

On the one hand, we've got centuries of observed data bringing us verified conclusions.

On the other hand, we've got the creationists' fragile little egos.

They crow about "persecution" when we laugh at them -- sometimes I don't think we're laughing hard enough.

The reason that evidence does not exist is because science is unable to test for it. It's a limitation of science called methodological materialism. This limits science to looking ONLY at the "physical" or "material" or "natural".

But it also limits science in the comments it can make about the existence of the spiritual. Science can't tell you it does not exist.

Your demand is like asking me to show evidence of mitochondria but the only instrument I have is the Hubble Telescope.

I fear you misunderstand. Science has a wide range of tools, not the one that you imply. If something is able to influence reality, the that influence can be measured, and thus it is science.
