  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

well, even though there're 4 ova in the Trust and Betrayal one that talkes about what happens before Kenshin tv series, let's say, the 4 ova is ONE movie.

then there're are four movies i think. One on what happens before, one on what happens when Tomoe's brother challenges Kenshin, one filler one that happens some time around the tv series, and one that relays the event of Kenshin's ending (which is different from the ending in the manga).

I watched the whole series and loved it, but saw Seisouhen (Reflections OVA) and thought it was a real downer :( I guess il start ordering the manga from the states then if its not as depressing.

The first two Kenshin OVA's Trust and Betrayal are very good though, I just have serious problems with the japaneese voice actor for Kenshin in both the OVA and series >_< he just sounds wrong with a female voice lol

Both Kenshin OVAs were very well made. The first was just... awesome. I kind of see the second as a "We can get money out of the fans. Let's make Kenshin suffer some more buahahah." Nevertheless it was still excellent, although it makes me cry every time I see it!

RahXephon episode 19 was also my favorite anime episode of all time. I cannot resist watching it over and over and over again, and I cannot resist crying over it over and over and over again.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure those are the names.

Now, the rurouni kenshin movie, what is that? Is it a part of Samurai X? A bridge in-between Samurai X and Rurouni Kenshin? Is it a completely different side story? Just curious.

There is an independent film completely free from yhe story line which takes place sometime after the Kyoto arc (this is the filler movie blessed-one mentioned). It's called the "Requim for the Ishin Sishi" or something like that although I've seen some other titles for the same film.

Get the mangas Hix, I warmly recommend them. The ending is much better, not nearly as depressing (though I don't mind depressing endings). It's just that is ties up all the loose ends. The one thing I hate about most anime series is that tey seldomly finnish the series properly.

What to you is the best Anime ever? To me it is Vampire Hunter D. I love watching Bloodlust and i am also a big fan of Vampires.

What a tough question for an JapAnime freak like me! I liked Vampire Hunter D a lot.... but my Favorites are (I can't pick only one :) the Boogiepop Phantoms Series, Metropolis and Akira... oh and I LOVED Spirited Away ^_^

"X" was very great too. I particularly enjoy JapAnime involving futuristic and apocalyptic matters (like Akira), ghostly fantasy (like Spirited Away) and more profound matters like the SO great Boogiepop Phantom series.....

I have many many favorites, but for some reason Vampire Hunter D always seems to sit at the top. The original, though I did really like the new one too (Bloodlust).

I actually have the action figure of D in my home office. I really love his character. I guess it is because his life is based on destroying what he sees as evil, yet because he is part Vampire he struggles with his own inner evil. As a Christian I feel that way at times, I always want to do what is right yet I battle my inner sinful man at the same time. I feel I can relate.

The story and artwork is awesome plus the music absolutely rocks! I had it shipped overseas for $40 many years ago just to get the soundtrack. I also liked the soundtrack for Bloodlust, though it was much easier to obtain.

It is interesting to note that this is based on a Novel (or novels) where most anime is based on Manga.

i read through the entire thread and every1 failed to mention an amazing anime.
DRAGONBALLZ!!!(mainly the CELL saga) i know it may be yesterdays anime but cmon people. this show is a classic. the drama, the tears(well maybe not), the suspense!!! geez. it was like watching a soapie. was the cell saga slow or wat!!! snails pace i would say but boy o boy!! was it worth it. gohan ssj level 2!! talk about mind blowing!! the way events led up to his ascendence(is that a word?) and android 16's words "just let it go, let it go" and all the others but i dont kno them. something about needing to fight to protect whats good in the world i think? then cells smashs 16's head then gohan snaps... lvl 2 POW!!!!! amazing stuff. the animation may not be as good as todays standards but the story carries it miles past any other anime i recall. its an amazing anime and should be put in a hall of fame of some sorts. an anime of this calibre deserves no less.
