The first time in my Christian life that I ever saw the power of God heal someone was watching benny hinn. And I new in my spirit that it was real and it made me want that for myself. Since then I have been way more excited about my life in Christ! I beleive God can use anyone, and Even if sometimes Benny hinn does some wierd things, which we all do sometimes, I know God used him to get my attention!

Benny Hinn is one of the biggest charlatans that ever walked the face of the earth. He's a heretic, a false prophet, and stages his so-called "healings." I used to watch and believe in Benny Hinn about 10 years ago until I realized that there was genuine information out there debunking him. For a time period I was in denial thinking it was just anti-Christian people (does anyone remember the HBO special on Hinn?) making propaganda against God's servant.

That was far from the truth.

I soon realized I had to get the focus off of myself and take a look at the actual evidence for and against this man. The evidence overwhelmingly leans against him. There are multiple reasons for this:

1.) He is a proponent of Word of Faith theology.
WoF is the biggest thing going against Benny Hinn in my opinion. Some may disagree and say it's the fake healings and money scams but my argument is that everything else ultimately stems from WoF. After extensive research, I can say that WoF is NOT the gospel of Jesus Christ and is a completely unscriptural delusion. "Faith" is not some metaphysical force that God and other believers use.

2.) Fake healings.
Face it: people with paraplegia, cerebral palsy, and many other obvious illnesses are not allowed on stage. I've seen the "wheelchair" gimmick where they carry multiple empty wheelchairs up to the stage. However, I would like to see where all of those people in wheelchairs go up there and get out of their wheelchairs all at once. Have you ever noticed that they play comforting and soothing music at his crusades? This is often done for a long time before the healing services actually begin in order to work the audience into an ecstatic and hypnotic state so they don't think about what's actually going on. What they don't show on camera are the multiple people in wheelchairs, obvious visible impairments, etc. in the background. There are many stories of those people trying to go up on stage and being blocked by guards.

3.) It's a money scam.
There's no doubt about this whatsoever. Former people who have worked for Benny Hinn have come out about this. A former security escort has said that by the end of each night the question was not, "How many people got saved/healed?", the question was, "How much money did we make?" as they counted it in all of the buckets that were passed down the aisles. The man owns a private jet and frivously spends money everywhere he goes. Need I mention the mansions he owns? What's worse is this money is coming from people who are financially struggling! The prosperity gospel has done great damage to people's faith. The only people who "prosper" are those who are at the very top running the ministries promising that God somehow owes them money for sowing a seed!

If you're into Benny Hinn, please reconsider. Try and see outside of your own pre-formed ideas and see what the evidence actually says. I promise you won't be blaspheming the Holy Spirit for doing so. The Spirit leads us into all truth. The truth about this man is that he is not who he says he is.

Benny hinn made a prophecy and claimed it was from God that around 1995 God would destroy homosexuals in America.

“The Lord also tells me to tell you in the mid 90’s, about ‘94-’95, no later than that, God will destroy the homosexual community of America. [audience applauds] But He will not destroy it – with what many minds have thought Him to be, He will destroy it with fire. And many will turn and be saved, and many will rebel and be destroyed.”

Did that happen?

I am really glad that others see the wrong this person is doing. I am not being hurtful but it almost seems that the people on this thread who are blind to this are with this ministry and just want to keep it up and running, please forgive me but Benny Hinn is not right with the Lord. It speaks of false phrophets in the KJV Bible that many will follow them and it's mine and many others on here to be a voice for the lord.

Benny Hinn has done a lot of damage to a lot of people. I don't want to rip into him, because I try to live my life by grace for everyone. But the dude has done some bad stuff. I'm convinced the vast majority of what is does is real and even less is actually brought about by God.

The way that he does is ministry is not particularly Biblical and most of it just flat out doesn't make sense. Mass healings really? God doesn't heal everyone just because they believe! Some people are going to remain sick and hurting, that doesn't mean God doesn't love them, but it does mean they won't be healed in this life. The message he proclaims is anti a lot of the times of that which is spoken of in the Bible.

There is a reason most Churches don't support people like Benny Hinn, we should follow their example. Not that we shouldn't pray for him, I really do hope he finds and seeks God. He's off the deep end right now, but maybe he can make his way back.

i'm not associated with Benny Hinn, nor anyone else. I've NEVER met him. I DO believe, faults n' all, Benny Hinn LOVES God. So did David. It is written that David was called "the apple" of God's eye. David sinned, horrendously. Yet, God called him the "apple of His eye". It is because David LOVED God, in spite of everything.

We are ALL sinners, saved by grace. There is NONE righteous, not ONE. If we see a brother stumbling, in the "muck and mire" we are to PRAY, and CONTINUE praying.

We're ALL but dust, fallen creatures, and ALL of us are prone to sin. There is a spiritual battle going on that is not seen. You bet'cha the enemy is looking hungrily for each of our Achilles Heels...and we ALL have them, each one of us. That is why we are admonished to put on the full armor of God. When we see a brother stumble or trip, or fall, we are to PRAY for our brother. It SURPRISES any of us that our fellow Christians fall, aren't "perfect"? And WE are? We're PERFECT? Some sins and stumbling are justy moree visible than others. Grace is required from us towards each other. For THAT is EXACTLY what God granted each of us..GRACE. NONE of us deserved His grace, He granted it in SPITE of our sinful, despicable selves. Dis David "deserve" God's grace? Does Benny Hinn? Do any of us.

I'm praying FOR Benny Hinn as I speak, and for each of us. Prayer and grace are DESPERATELY needed in this world. Oh that God would grant more of it to us, His children. May He help each of us on this road we all travel...it's a hard journey. Let's speak encouragement and lift each other in prayer. May God help us do this.

I have personally been to a Benny Hinn crusade a long time ago. My mother had breast cancer about 10 years ago and was desperate for a healing. She got involved in the whole "word of faith" movement and was constantly watching TBN. Anyway we went to the crusade. First there was praise and worship for at least 2 hours and then Benny Hinn was preaching and they gave a "love offering" I remember Benny Hinn was saying that the more money you gave the more likely God would heal you which I was very turned off too, Jesus or the disciples never asked for money!! My Mom was in a wheelchair at the time just because she would get tired from walking around not because she couldn't. Anyway we were kind of close to the stage and she got up from her wheelchair. Then of course one of Benny Hinn's helpers asking what had happened and she told him that she had cancer and believed God was going to heal her. Then He asked us if we wanted to go up on stage. Of course my mom wanted to. When we walked up on stage, Benny Hinns helper announced it to everyone that my mom was healed and that she got up out of her wheelchair and then benny hinn did his little slaying us in the spirit thing. My Mom went down immediately but when he did it to me nothing happened it was very strange. It almost felt like I was being hypnotized or something. Needless to say my mom was not healed. She died 2 months later. I do think that Benny Hinn is in it for the money. He lives in a huge mansion and has his own private jet. It is very dishonest also to tell people that someone is healed when you have no proof of it. I never saw anyone who was physically handicapped get up out of their wheelchair. I cannot say for sure if he is a false teacher but she sure appears to be. He also has gone on tv and said that Jesus is going to appear psychically in his meetings. That should be enough for people to stay clear of him!!

How sad!!! I am so sorry he acted as though he was a sheep, but he was a wolf to you and your dear family. The danger in this is that some people quit seeing a doctor if they are told they are healed..and again as others have said, Jesus never asked for money. Why doesn't Benny just walk the streets and "heal" people...why is there a bucket involved??? It's hard to love a wolf!!!

I am sorry if I sounded judgemental or angry. I'm not angry or bitter at Benny Hinn. I have forgiven Him and His ministry. I was never actually angry at him just myself, I thought that the reason my Mom wasn't healed was because I didn't have enough faith or I had some secret unconfessed sin or maybe I wasn't saved. Anyway God used that to bring me closer to Him. It is amazing how great our God is that He uses everything the good and the bad for our good!!

according to scripture when someone says God told them something that was to happen and it doesn't they are a false prophet. You can decide if you are going to believe His word ot what you think or feel. What the prophets in the Bible said have come to pass and are coming to pass. Otherwise we could not believe a word it says. We would not know what was truth and what was lies. A lot of people that teach it is always Gods will to heal are in their grave and most of them got sick to die. Lets hear you deny that.

Benny Hinn is flesh and blood. He is but a man. He goes where many others who profess Christ, fear to trod. He was in Kinshasa. One of the most troubled cities in the world. My daughter is a missionary in Kinasha. She ministers to the orphaned, abandoned and homeless children there.

PRAY for Benny Hinn. Pray for ANYONE who would set their foot in Kinshasa, where poverty and chaos and devastation reign.

God knows each of our hearts. He will surely deal with ALL as He has promised to do. In the meantime PRAY for Benny Hinn.

I agree with you. I wish more people really studied their Bible so that they know when something is not right. I believe with all my heart that God can heal today but it has to be in his will, not binny hinns. I HAVE 3 CHILDREN AND 1 GRAND CHILD WITH MD that will probably end up in wheel chairs so i wish all I had to do was believe to make it happen.

Ok so..... I am not saying he is not annointed, but I believe he preys on weak minded christians. What I mean by that is "Christians" who think that they have to see this man to be healed or who think God can only heal them through him. I feel his ministry leaves way to OVER zealousness. What happened to faith in God? I believe that God can heal me sitting right here at my computer. Before you go nuts I am not saying he is fake or the people getting healed is fake, BUT...... There is that word again.
On a whole do healing ministries feel that they are under more scrutiny than any other form of ministry? There have been so many that faked it on TV, its just hard for some people to grab.
he is not fake be careful wat u say about a man annointed by God

When measuring Benny Hinns' life and ministry against scripture, he is found wanting. He teaches erroneous doctrines. His methods are questionable, to say the least. The sad thing is that too many people are using supposed signs and wonders to validate him instead of using the word of God.

Pray for Benny Hinn.
I agree that we should pray for him, as the bible says that prayer and supplication should be made for all men (1 Timothy 2:1). However, if we only prayed for him and did not seek to warn others about the teaching he is doing, it would mean that we don't care much about the millions of people who are impacted by his false teaching, who will eventually have the wrong perception of God because of giving heed to tainted doctrine. This is why the bible told us we should earnestly contend for the faith that was once given to the saints (Jude 1:3).
