When you are pregnant, do you dislike or like when people rub your belly? Reasons?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I don't mind it... as long as they ask first. I HATE it when strangers think its ok to touch it without my say so!!!

I always hated it, even people I knew. It is my body and just because I am sharing it, does not give people free license to touch me.

I have always HATED that! I'm rather fond of my personal space, so having people touch me bugs me. And around Here, it's a Cultural thing for women to touch another woman's pregnant belly (and that keeps on going to having them touch the baby once it's born). Don't like it at all.

I've had a few customers at work touch my belly without asking. Its a really hard thing to deal with, cause you can't be rude. And they were older ladies (like my grandmothers age).
A couple of the girls at work have asked... and I really don't mind. I let them touch it.
I've had friends ask if they can feel the baby kick... i'm cool with that too...

I didn't mind if it was a friend of mine, but I didn't like strangers or people I didn't know that well touching me.

without music, life would be a mistake
with this being the 3rd one, i am actually used to it. people at church do it a lot. it's really cute when the kids come up to me and talk to him "hi mason!"

although i do not have to worry about i thought i'd chime in saying how my wife feels about it. My wife only likes it when i rub her belly if it is anyone else even asks or tries to do so she asks them not to or she will push their hand away

I usually don't mind if it is friends, people I don't know really bother me. But I have this friend this time that is constantly touching my stomach, telling me how small and hard it is and how skinning I am and how the baby must be small, and on and on, all the while she is pushing and poing on my stomach. It is getting real annoying. I am small and I carry everythng out in front. I think she is upset because of how big she got and still is but I am getting uncomfortable about it all.

I hardly had it happen at all with my first. But it has happened already with this one! I always ask or I will have my hands out, but won;t actually touch the belly.

I didn't mind if it was someone I knew. But I would have people I didn't know..especially at school, who would just walk up and rub my belly..and I would tell people "don't touch my belly"
I work in retail too so I did have a few older ladies rub my belly once while I was waiting on them..and like someone else said you can't really be rude and tell them not to do that, so I just finished up with them and walked away. But as long as I knew the person I didn't mind.

If they asked, it didn't bother me. My huge belly didn't feel like part of me anymore anyway.
I'm more skeeved out now when people try and pull my sling back when DS is in it. If I wearing it, it's clothing! Would you pull my shirt up to see a pregnant belly? No! Hands off!

Family and clsoe friends I don't mind but strangers, no way! I am big on my personal space so having a stranger intrude is not on!
I'm not even showing yet and had a lady at work pat my tummy only yesterday, it took me by complete surprise as I thought I should only expect people to try to touch my tummy when I'm showing. I didn't want to be rude so rather than say anything I just took a big step backwards and folded my arms, so i let her know using body language, the best way i know how instead of snapping and sounding rude.
I wonder why some people, especially strangers think that it's perfectly OK to touch a pregnant tummy? I would never dream of it, above all to someone I hardly knew.

I hated it except from DH. If you wouldn't touch me there any other time don't do it while I'm preggers. It is still my skin.
